Not sure that is correct. I guess it would not take into account the cuts we will make as we don't know for sure who they are.

Bottom line is that 34 million will not get it done with the gaping holes this team actually has. Hopefully we can free up a significant amount by making the appropriate cuts and maybe restructure some folks. My fear is that the front office actually believes this team is better than it really is. If we try to cut corners on the defense again, we will be in a lot of trouble.

Looks like we can free up 17 million more by making these moves. They are all no-brainers I feel:
Redskins have plenty of cap space, but can easily free up more. 53 million should be plenty to work with hopefully.

I hope Cousins signs a deal that gives us a little more room as well.

Actually just one, that being the safety. If we were to hit on a safety, I believe it would help our pass rush.
Whitner, somehow must have beaten out the other healthy options. But he proved he was ineffective at the L.O.S and in single high.

I mentioned drafting and signing a FA. I'd like to think our 3-4 run defense would actually improve with an above average NT. Brandon Williams, Hankins or Poe could have a similar effect that Harrison had in NY. There was a lot
of bashing going on for NY spending all that money on a 2-down NT and a lazy CB in Jenkins. But we see how that worked out.

Our ILBs are OK, but a 1st or 2nd rounder at the position could also be a HUGE help

Whitner didn't have to beat out anyone. He was signed to replace David Bruton who not only had no business playing safety much less starting, was alos injured.

With KC taking up 24,mil here is where we stand 34,mil in cap space

Cutting Hall Lavou RJF Paul ,Carrier we get 16 mil in cap space making it 52mil

Cutting about 10 bottom feeders and we can add 7 mil out of a possible 14 mil available

Now we can't cut the entire Bottom half of the squad so I took 7 mil making it 59 mil

We won't do all this but i am just showing you where we stand

Yeah with this market, you still have some tough choices to make. You could bring a lot of folks back and get LG, and NT taken care of, but you go into the season with almost no wiggle room.
I did something similar on another site. I think more folks should try out what you did so they get an idea of what can and can't be done with 30-60mil
