Danny Davis, Springfield , Wide Receiver

Badgers might have just stolen a four star WR in Danny Davis from OSU as he's from Ohio. This is the highest ranked WR the Badgers have ever acquired. Sure they've had Lee Evans, Chris Chambers, Toon, and Abbrederris but none of them were ranked high coming out of high school. This will be the Badgers last addition (18) to their 2017 recruiting class which is very small since few graduated or entered the draft this year. Combine this with the Transfers from last year who are now eligible to play this year (4 star OLB Bama Transfer, 4 star RB pitt transfer, and 3 star CB Hawaii transfer) I think this is a decent class both on offense and defense. There's the walk on program as well which turns out a couple starters and an NFL player almost every year. He was recruited by 18 other P5 schools. Pretty cool they can do this without handing out cars and houses like USC and Bama.

Suck it OSU

Odd one. I did not see that coming. I saw Urban visited, but I never thought OSU would offer..

I'm shocked as well. He's the lowest scholarship WR on the team.

Badgers must believe they've struck gold in Texass since they're starting to primarily recruit WR's out of there now. We obtain our CB's from Florida, RB's and QB's from Jersey, Safeties from Michigan, OLB's from Bama, and most of the O-line and D-line come from in state. It's working out very well. They go to other states as well but the majority of their position players come from these states.

Now, where do we find our new D Coordinator?

He may not be 4.3, but he definitely moves well for 6'5". He won't play TE anyhow, he's only 185. He's yet another tree for us to use in the RZ, at the very least.
He had like 14 catches combined his last two years in HS in a terrible district.

I'm not sold he ever sees the field. He's a project to say the least. Hell I don't even know how he's a 3 star

Maybe due to his size, where he's from and the teams that offered him. :noidea:

If he had 4.3 speed, he would be atleast on par with Bama's recruit Tyrell Shavers which I think is BS also.

His 40 time is verified by scout.com. He had a 4.38 laser gun 40 time. At 6'6" that just means his top speed will probably be unmatched in the NCAA. Now we shall see what Usain Bolt would do in the NFL. lol

Nice

Do you believe Dylan can beat out dumb dumb for the starting QB job in his Freshman year or will they sacrifice this season and redshirt the kid?
He needs S&C. Peters is the one likely to beat out the fucking stiff.

He's not Usain Bolt. Megatron ran a 4.35 40. Hell Heyward Bey almost ran in the 4.2s at like 6'3 and he was a bust.

We never even visited this kid, let alone offered him a scholarship. You're essentially beating out Kentucky, WVU and Washington State. Bravo.

He's a project for sure. He'll RS year one and likely won't even see the field til year 3 with all the talent we have at the position. However, here's his scouting report I'm reading:

I guess take it for what it's worth, but that doesn't sound like a waste of a scholarship or anything.

Mathematicians estimated Usain Bolt's 40 time at 3.97. Unfortunately, we will never see a U.Bolt in the NFL

Damn, a football player failing to make the Alabama academic standards. He must have an IQ of a rock.

You would think anyone could make it if Forrest could

NO school in Texas wanted him and they've seen him the most. Guess you have to trust Urban's eye for talent, because I definitely don't see it. Measurables don't mean much to me without production.

Except for yours...and Houston...

In fact, Texas sent two guys to recruit him.

Yes. Herman offered, so people see something. Texas moved on to Pouncey a couple weeks ago. This is the time of the year when offers go to 3rd and 4th options. Sometimes they offer only as a back-up. Lots of crazy stuff happens the couple weeks.

Texas just offered him 2 weeks ago today. You're telling me Herman offered him and immediately just said "ehh"?

They wanted him as a DB. Davis didnt want that.

From the article:

“They wanted me to come camp as a defensive back,” Davis told Landof10. “I don’t have interest in that.”

Because of that disconnect, Davis and the Buckeyes have not had any contact in months, not since wide receivers coach Zach Smith was there in the spring. In their stead, a host of other schools in the region have stepped up their contact.
