Oregon: Colorado defensive coordinator Jim Leavitt will join the Oregon staff in the same role, according to Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman, who adds that Leavitt will get a 4-year deal and be the highest paid coordinator in Pac-12 history. Leavitt was a finalist for the Broyles Award this season, improving Colorado’s scoring defense from No. 119 before he arrived to No. 18 in his second year with the program.

found this very interesting.

Good move for Leavitt, Rarely do coordinators get long term contracts.

If he can turn around that dumpster fire he'll be worth whatever they are paying him.

Still surprised they never went after Wilcox with his recruiting ties all over the west and his ties to that school. Could have had him last year for half the price and Helfrich would probably still have kept his job.

Thank god you didn't retain Hoke. He needs to go to the MAC and never come back.

Dude was always crazy coked up hyper on the sidelines at USF. But he did win a few games there.

Hmmm, one former USF head coach hiring another former USF head coach.

I'm not sure how I feel about this hire. I think he'll be an improvement over Hoke at least. :noidea:

I really like the move. I think getting Taggart on the cheap (relatively speaking, rather than hiring someone like Mullen) and opening up the checkbook for a DC (and possibly other assistants) was the right decision. I'm not sure what the expectations are for next year but I really like where this is headed.

I like the Taggart/Leavitt combo a hell of a lot better than Helfrich/Wilcox. They will turn it around - it's not like they had a 0-12 season and building from there.

Watch out, Leavitt is one solid corch. I wish we could have bought him. :(

I wonder if they inquired about him. Maybe he wants a head coaching job only.

At Colorado he started with zero talent, recruited so-so but coached those kids up. He made them into football players. I'm really liking this hire.
