It seems the Bruins didn't win, rather the Canucks choked

How about we just use the series thread for all of these "Post-Cup Final" Cup Final threads?

I don't see any choke at all. Maybe if Vancouver was up 3-1 in the series or something, but all that happened was for the first 4 games, both team won home games; it only happened that Vancouver started at home first.

BTM....you may hear many things in the near future...just for comparison...and shits and giggles...when the Pens beat Detroit, we heard, mostly from one poster, that the only reason the Pens won was because Detroit was too injured, or they were tired from fighting their way through the much more competitive Bestern conference...just enjoy your Cup...they cant take that from you....no matter how hard they try....

I hear ya, but they make it sound like if the Nucks didn't "choke", the Bruins didn't stand a chance. Especially after the 1st 2 games and the way they lost. It's more of a slap against the Bruins offense, like if Luongo doesn't suck, the Bruins don't score. After the Horton hit, the Bruins dominated in 4 of the next 5.

Honestly, when you look at the stats, it was probably one of the most lopsided playoff series that went to game 7 in playoff history. That said, stats are for losers while winners go home and fuck the prom queen.

/Thanks Sean Connery

There is a lot more to a game than the final score. Everybody looks at those crooked numbers and says "Wow, Boston dominated". Not really. Vancouver outplayed the Bruins in the first periods of Games 3 and 4. If they get a goal or two past Thomas, it's a different story. He hung Boston in long enough until LOLuongo turned into a pile of shit and took his team out of the games. Same story in Game 6. Puck hops over Hank's stick at one end, Roberto whiffs on a Marchand shot at the other, then tops it off with a softie through his five hole. Game over

All you have to do is look at the save % of both goalies in that series to tell you why Boston won. Thomas was brilliant, Luongo was terrible.

To be fair, Luongo was great in three games (including two shutouts). True, Thomas did outplay him in the series, but 8 goals in 7 games?!? That's not going to get it done, I don't care who you're playing.

That is Roberto's biggest problem really. The ceiling and floor in his play is too large. When he is good, he is outstanding. When he is bad, he is jaw droppingly awful. There is no average with him, it's one or the other most often.

Think I saw somewhere the final scoring chances tally in the Final was 116-113 for the Bruins. Thomas was just unreal.
