No problem Cali. I wrote earlier in the week that if you can't run, can't stop the run, and can't rush the passer, it's gonna be tough to win. The passing game will have to save this team this year and last night it let us down. Kirk has to be better and I expect him to. This team appears to be 2 drafts away from really competing for something that counts. Oline, dline, and rb. Still not sold on Barry.

If Barry doesn't run blitz or just blitz in general its going to be a long year no matter who is on the field.

With so many quick hitters I'm not so sure a blitz would have solved much. This team has no interior pass rush, this is not news, and it will kill them.

Barry doesn't like biltzing , we learned this last yr. It's not in his DNA. The difference this yr is we have a tougher schedule than last yr. We will have to win games with our Off. So yes get ready for along yr. Bottoms up!!!

I'm not even going to pretend that I know how to fix our D. I guess run blitz, but if he's not gonna let Norman earn his money, what's the point? Don't want to make too much of it, Pittsburgh was my preseason favorite to win it all, but they beat us with their B team last night. Zek and Alf on the way. Barry better do something, because our poor run defense is keeping our offense off the field.

That's a great tweat by Patrick Collins. The Steelers made adjustment to defend Reed after the first series. We made no adjustments to defend the best WR in football. Our DC sticks to his guns no matter what - and that's not a good thing.

Don't want to make too much of it, Pittsburgh was my preseason favorite to win it all, but they beat us with their B team last night. Zek and Alf on the way. I understand what you are saying, but no B team has Big Ben and Brown on it. I realize that the Steelers have some significant weapons that were not playing, but the offense that they fielded last nt can do some serious damage to most teams in the NFL. If/when they field their complete offense - watch out! This is still no excuse for the horrendous play by the Redskins defense last nt.

After the first series the Steelers bracketed Reed, lots of zone. He had all the receptions the 1st series and we barely saw him after. Cousins tried to force the ball to him too much. If they take one thing away you have to present another problem. We have the guys to do it but didn't happen last night. We couldn't get Steelers offense off the field after mid 2nd quarter. Best defense is a good offense.

Do we all agree that Kirk absolutely cannot continue to pass 43 times per game? (Unless he can also throw lefty!!) This next game is on our running attack, or, lack thereof. Unfortunately, Dallas knows that too and will appy the same formula that the Steelers did....soft zone, extra man up.

There has to be at least a threat of a running game. The worst part was on the runs that Jones did look good on, we got flagged. I think we can get away with using the short passing game as a makeshift running attack, but the requires long drives and mistake free football. Still have to find a way to get off the field on 3rd down or Kirk and all those weapons will be sitting and watching. Pittsburgh is really good though people. I reserve judgment till I see more. Doesn't look good though.
