They did ok. Q. Nelson had a bad whiff when they needed it. Still struggle with getting two yards when they absolutely have to but gave Kizer just enough time to make some amazing plays tooOffensive line was less than impressive.
so disappointed in the Oline. I miss Nick Martin. Our new Center sucks.Well....over rated. Defense is terrible. OL is terrible. To many fucking mistakes....at least we dont have to worry about the playoffs now...

The other thing that sucks is our defense is so bad that we won't be able to rest starters and get backups experience against our weaker opponents that we should blow out.
They were fundamentally unsound in tackling. I agree on the substitutions but there's really no one to substitute at safety. Too many 3 man fronts when the whole world knew TX was running it.First as college football fan I thought this was a very interesting game college coaches need to remember.
I thought your defense was not in game shape. In 3-4 gems your defense holds Texas in check.
It was a perfect storm against the Irish yesterday. Up tempo for the first game of the year, the heat in Texas, and a coaching staff slow to rotate defensive players quickly. The defense just wore down. I kept seeing the defense slow to get in position.
I would not want to play this style of offense the first game of the year. Notre Dame had more talent but the pace offset that advantage.
First game of the year to much needs to unfold to say your out of it. The B1G is brutal I can't see any team going through the season without a loss and the same could be said of the SEC so 1 loss should be easy to overcome. Especially this early.
this is what im talking about. This defensive scheme is shit. i blame Kelly for not firing VG. 1 more bad game and he needs to get fired mid season. next year hire a top DC. no more messing around. its time to go all in. we have the talent. They were fundamentally unsound in tackling. Seven years in and year 3 with this DC. In the last 3 games they've given up 38, 44 and 50 points. Watching the front 7 stunt themselves out of plays is maddening too.

To buy out Van Gorder's contract.
