Starting 16 new players is part of it.
We had a ton of new starters in 2014 and it worked out pretty well. That team was led almost entirely by new starters. Now this year we have JT Barrett back as the unquestioned leader. It's appropriate.

OK. That's all settled. Now let's not waste time and we can all just jump straight to the playoff. OU only has to win 2 games for a National Championship. When is kickoff for OU vs. Fucking Clemson again? :tsk:

If we get to play Clemson again and if we don't win.....I'm gonna paint my house orange.

OSU is almost entirely ranked high based on past history. I'm not OK with that. They aren't being ranked on the quality of their team, but a thought process that goes along the lines of, "well, they reload so they'll probably be good".

Winning the B10 requires more than just beating Michigan.

Right, beating MI is more of a formality now.

They are ranked based on the players and coaches they have. I guess people think that the new players and current coaches are better than the returning MI player and coaches.

They're ranked highly because Urban Meyer has proven time and time again to be an elite coach and recruiter that is really only equaled by Nick Saban. OSU is full of elite players, and the coaches know that. These "new starters" would be "returning starters" on probably 95% of the teams in the nation. Urban has earned the benefit of the doubt by repeatedly proving his worth. You seem to be the only one who can't see that for some reason.

I suspect it's more the fact that people have no idea what OSU's current situation is and just expect them to be good. I'd wager most coaches who voted have no idea that OSU is returning the least amount of starters in CFB.

No, Mark, please don't do that. Make it a little less painful and do what I'll do if Clemson beats us again. I'll just rename my wife "Tiger". Then when she growls I'll throw her the meat.

So you are saying that most coaches have more faith in Meyer and his recruits than in other teams like MI with more returning starters. Makes sense.

Uh, No. See 2010 Florida.

So one instance makes the rule? I think maybe they see what Meyer did at BG, Utah, FL and tOSU as a whole and not just one bad year.

LOL so you point to his only bad season as a head coach as some sort of indicator? Try again.
After he lost a bunch of talent at Florida....is that not what just happened at OSU?

It's a pretty similar situation.

You mean like in 2014 when he had to replace his all-conference RB, 4/5 offensive linemen and at the last second, his all-conference QB?
