First off I like the pick. After patiently waiting on Thompson it's clear he does not have the breakaway speed to be a real difference maker. This is something this team has needed forever, again the reason I really wanted them to make a run at Sproles. Our new guy has that but he doesn't appear to have that quick change in direction. I watched that whole highlight tape and don't think I saw him make a guy miss. But the hands he showed on that TD catch was very impressive. He'll fill a role but I don't ever see him as a prime back.

I believe he was the top rated RB in the country coming out of HS. You know those Georgia Bulldogs do have a pretty good track record producing NFL stars at the RB position.

Kid just might be another late round steal like that former Denver Bronco # 30 who did pretty well.

We need to sign him quickly and get him training with our team. We need to make sure he is healthy or at least get him there if he isn't.

rarely do you get a back in round 7 with that kind of speed . once he learns to set up blocks on the pro level he will be a serious weapon and nice compliment to jones

I've been wondering about that a bit Dad. I know that he was hurt and that probably changed his draft status. The cautious optimist in me while hoping for the best, agrees with you that it is very, very, rare to get speed like that in the 7th round.

I am not as high on this pick as many are. He has speed, no doubt. But every team was aware of his speed. They all passed. So there is something that all 32 teams saw (as well as his coaches at Georgia because he didn't play much the last 3 years) that had him drop almost out of the draft completely. I don't know what it is, I realize he was injured after his freshman year, but that was 3 years ago. I will watch him with cautious optimism but my expectations are not high.

Yeah! Thompson has speed, but not to breakaway. Keith Marshall has that. I saw it, many times, when Georgia was on television. In fact, his injuries are what cost him his job, when him and Todd Gurley played together. Gurley had his share of injuries, as well and not just the one that he rehabbed, last year. Keith Marshall has decent cut-back ability, and shiftiness in the open field. I would like a few more broken tackles, but that could come. His primary objective is to make sure he stays healthy.

this is the last pick in round 7 . if you are taking a flier on a guy this guy would be it . he may never amount to anything but you gave it a pretty good stab
