Okie State CB Michael Hunter to the Giants. Nicest guy in the world. Very happy for him.

Now, hold on. Not the whole family. There's still the possibility that we trade up from 32 next year and take Christian.

We will have to see. Christian can redeem the family name but Max for sure is dead to me picking the Raiders of all teams. I know they didn't draft a WR this year but come on he had to grow up hating the Raiders with a passion just like all of us.

Know what your getting at from a " fan base " as far a hate for the division rivalry stuff but although Broncos and Raiders, etc were fierce competitors and publicly challenged and threw punches at each other on and off the field, there is a respect for each other that goes deeper than your avg Joe looking in from the outside. I really doubt Ed told his kids growing up " God I hate the Raiders" !. He probably told his kids, " I love to beat their ass because they've been a huge pain but I have a lot of respect for many of the players and the organization, etc. I doubt Ed acted like us fans when he addressed his kids about sportsmanship, respect, etc for all teams. I don't blame the kid.

I don't blame him for picking the Raiders. They have a WR need in the sense they don't have a ton of depth at the position so it is a better chance for him to start. Honestly I was somewhat joking. These guys have to go where they think is the best chance to make their dream come true whether they go to a rival team than what they grew up or not.

Also Ed McCaffrey will never be dead to me. That man did things for this team that not many players at that time in the league would do of going over the middle with such reckless abandonment. Always appreciate what he did for the Broncos and really his family has done a ton for the Denver area and will continue to do so since they live there.

Probably some connections with JDR from their days when Jack's son and the McCaffrey boys played at Valor Christian together as well. Plus will put him close to Christian this year.

I read somewhere that Max's old high school coach is actually a position coach with the Raiders. I think he coaches the Linebackers or something like that but yeah there is a Coaching connection that helped him make his decision.

Max's situation is what you call in Texas a downright dirty shame it happened that way.

Not dead to me - although I cheered when I read CDs comments. It's a business. On the bright side I think his dad got cut once before becoming a Denver Bronco - and maybe history will repeat itself.

It looks like for the rest of the UDFAs - these recent Bronco classes seemed to have equal shares of circus freaks, athletes who were injured - guys who got in trouble - and some who really should have been drafted.

Pika and Lars Larsen have some good human interest stories. If you can contribute on specials teams or if you have the makings of a player - about a year a way - the Broncos will find a place for you.
