I am on the bandwagon, like I said earlier, this is the one guy I thought was worth that kind of trade up.

I watched him on Gruden's show (who makes it almost intolerable)...but the guy knows his shit. Regardless of his physical abilities, he's definitely a student of the game.

What do all Franchise QB's have in common? P Manning, Brady, Rodgers, Brees etc ....? They all have it together between the ears ... they all can look at a D and know where the weak spots are, where all the best match ups are, where the hot reads are .... Wentz looks like he has plenty of that and on top of it has great size and physical tools. I'm very excited I get to root for him for the next 12 plus years.

You cry baby's have no clue!!! This is the move that had to be made and I've been telling you all for months!!! You should be happy as pigs in shit that I was wrong on the compensation. We get to keeper Fletcher Cox! So kudos to Howie for not having to include our best defensive player in the deal. You can bet there's a deal in place probably with Denver for Sammie Sleeves. When you have an opportunity to go up and get a franchise Qb you do it, period. You lose on 100% of the chances you don't take! For the record our best draft picks are the ones we trade up for! Get on board! It's a great day in Philly!

I'm not one of them. Already posted approval. We needed a franchise QB.

Eagles hit the pipe hard for 4/20. We give up a mid 3rd, probably a top 10 1st next year along with another 3rd and a 2nd in 2018. All for 1 player who hasnt even played against the best college players let alone nfl caliber players.

They better be right on this because they've given up a ransom for it.

It's not rally a steep price. A first and third and fourth this year (which is a swap of firsts), a first next year, and a second next year, and a third. Really, that all? We got a steal!

The one thing that I am thinking about here is this is as much about the salary cap as anything. They will gain something in the area of 14 million for 2017 when they deal Bradford (either before or after this season). That will give them the flexibility to resign Fletcher Cox. Which I was trying to figure out they could do that.

They already could sign Cox. The salary cap is always flexible. Almost no teams get in salary cap trouble anymore and the ones that do are very short lived and made multiple bad consecutive decisions to get there in the first place.

I'm not in love with either of these qb's, but you have to have a franchise QB to get anywhere. If they think the new guy fits the bill; then so be it. One of these lopsided deals is bound to work eventually.

Roseman stated that we're not trading Bradford.

Hold on to your butts, everyone.

Re-signing Cox better be right behind this

Absolutely it was too much. I was begging for them to stay at 8 and get the bookend tackle of the future in stanley. Another draft with no o-linemen early. Its not gonna matter which qb they get when they have shit blocking for him.

Stanley is soft. Didn't like him at all. We'll get some OLs later, plus we'll trade Bradford for more picks.

I took a lot of shit about this for Months but I had a feeling all along we were gonna go up and get Wentz, I just thought we were gonna have to give up Cox.... The fact that we get to keep Cox and only have to give next years number 1 and a few other picks it's amazing! How Howie pulled this off I don't know, but it's a brilliant move. I'm ecstatic! This kids gonna be our franchise Qb for the next 12 years

I am with you. Bradford will be going to Denver. Not sure what they can get, hopefully a 2nd or a 1st next year. I would like to replenish future drafts. We will be ok this year. They did a great job in FA covering up holes.

We're not trading Bradford, but we could trade Chase

We will trade Bradford. Howie only said he's the QB right now. He'll get traded. Probably to Denver.

They will trade Bradford and the savings will allow them to sign Cox... Of course right now they are saying Sam Bradford isn't gonna be traded they have to say that.

2016 picks to build a team round the QB - one 3rd rounder
2017 picks to build a team around the QB - one 2nd rounder
2018 picks to build a team around the QB - one 1st and one 3rd

Over the course of 3 years we will have as many top picks as the good teams generally have in 1 year. And by the time Wentz develops all of our current players will be moving out of their prime. We'll have zero safeties, zero Dlinemen, 1/5 Oline.

Basically the team is trying to win the Super Bowl with Wentz, Matthews, Johnson, Rowe and Hicks as the only core players.

The cost we paid is about what I thought it would be when I was running some scenarios in my head the past couple of days - I'm mixed on this trade; I felt we were in a good position where we were, but I understand the move and I actually give kudos to Roseman for making a decision and having the balls to do it. I'll feel a bit better if Goff goes first and Wentz is the guy we end up with; I like him more. Whether you like this move or not, this is BOLD.

It takes no balls to blow all your picks on 1 QB. The refrain is "oh well, shucks, didn't work out." It takes balls to piece together a team and Howie is looking like he doesn't have the stomach for it.

Exchanged firsts ... only gave up one first in order to make the exchange

Correct! Not a steep price at all. I'd Carson turns out to be real, then Howie got a steal!!

Give it a chance after we see how the whole draft turns out.

I like the trade, of course its a steep price to pay, but not nearly as steep as many were staying. They spread out the damage over a couple of years and so its looking pretty good. Will it pan out, who knows, would who we picked with those picks pan out .. who knows. You not going to know if its a fleecing for a couple of years. If we got a great QB then we fleeced the Browns, if hes a journeyman the Browns fleeced us. But pick for pick trade value chart says its about right where it should be.

I like these QBs but it is a steep price to pay, and I personally concluded Wentz was worth a big trade up but Goff maybe not. So I am torn right now.

One good sign though: If Cleveland thinks you can't play QB, it probably means you are going to win Super Bowls.

The day the Browns passed on Big Ben

Roethlisberger: 38 college starts - 10,829 yards - 84 TDs
Wentz: 23 college starts - 5,115 yards - 45 TDs
