Fly, Eagles Fly
I am on the bandwagon, like I said earlier, this is the one guy I thought was worth that kind of trade up.
You cry baby's have no clue!!! This is the move that had to be made and I've been telling you all for months!!! You should be happy as pigs in shit that I was wrong on the compensation. We get to keeper Fletcher Cox! So kudos to Howie for not having to include our best defensive player in the deal. You can bet there's a deal in place probably with Denver for Sammie Sleeves. When you have an opportunity to go up and get a franchise Qb you do it, period. You lose on 100% of the chances you don't take! For the record our best draft picks are the ones we trade up for! Get on board! It's a great day in Philly!
Eagles hit the pipe hard for 4/20. We give up a mid 3rd, probably a top 10 1st next year along with another 3rd and a 2nd in 2018. All for 1 player who hasnt even played against the best college players let alone nfl caliber players.
They better be right on this because they've given up a ransom for it.
The one thing that I am thinking about here is this is as much about the salary cap as anything. They will gain something in the area of 14 million for 2017 when they deal Bradford (either before or after this season). That will give them the flexibility to resign Fletcher Cox. Which I was trying to figure out they could do that.
Absolutely it was too much. I was begging for them to stay at 8 and get the bookend tackle of the future in stanley. Another draft with no o-linemen early. Its not gonna matter which qb they get when they have shit blocking for him.
I am with you. Bradford will be going to Denver. Not sure what they can get, hopefully a 2nd or a 1st next year. I would like to replenish future drafts. We will be ok this year. They did a great job in FA covering up holes.Stanley is soft. Didn't like him at all. We'll get some OLs later, plus we'll trade Bradford for more picks.
We're not trading Bradford, but we could trade Chase
They will trade Bradford and the savings will allow them to sign Cox... Of course right now they are saying Sam Bradford isn't gonna be traded they have to say that.I'm not in love with either of these qb's, but you have to have a franchise QB to get anywhere. If they think the new guy fits the bill; then so be it. One of these lopsided deals is bound to work eventually.
Roseman stated that we're not trading Bradford.
Hold on to your butts, everyone.
Re-signing Cox better be right behind this
Eagles hit the pipe hard for 4/20. We give up a mid 3rd, probably a top 10 1st next year along with another 3rd and a 2nd in 2018. All for 1 player who hasnt even played against the best college players let alone nfl caliber players.

The cost we paid is about what I thought it would be when I was running some scenarios in my head the past couple of days - I'm mixed on this trade; I felt we were in a good position where we were, but I understand the move and I actually give kudos to Roseman for making a decision and having the balls to do it. I'll feel a bit better if Goff goes first and Wentz is the guy we end up with; I like him more. Whether you like this move or not, this is BOLD.
Exchanged firsts ... only gave up one first in order to make the exchange
2016 picks to build a team round the QB - one 3rd rounder
2017 picks to build a team around the QB - one 2nd rounder
2018 picks to build a team around the QB - one 1st and one 3rd
Over the course of 3 years we will have as many top picks as the good teams generally have in 1 year. And by the time Wentz develops all of our current players will be moving out of their prime. We'll have zero safeties, zero Dlinemen, 1/5 Oline.
Basically the team is trying to win the Super Bowl with Wentz, Matthews, Johnson, Rowe and Hicks as the only core players.
It takes no balls to blow all your picks on 1 QB. The refrain is "oh well, shucks, didn't work out." It takes balls to piece together a team and Howie is looking like he doesn't have the stomach for it.
I like these QBs but it is a steep price to pay, and I personally concluded Wentz was worth a big trade up but Goff maybe not. So I am torn right now.
One good sign though: If Cleveland thinks you can't play QB, it probably means you are going to win Super Bowls.
