They did a dream sequence for about a half an issue at one point. It was meant as a joke, though, as it was never mentioned in-story.

I do not expect it to be brought into the show.
I think the only thing that would piss fans off more than killing off a beloved character would be that. BTW, the correct answer is Daryl (Reedus has too many other side projects now).

Or killing Aaron. They have to make this one hurt. To me, that means Glenn, Abraham or Daryl. The girls are safe because there is no chance they kill a female in that brutal fashion (you know, equality of the sexes and all...)

Would killing Abraham really hurt though... I wouldn't really even care personally. I like Glenn and Daryl way more.

I like Abe. He gets the best dialogue from the writers. Glenn has become a useless character this past season or so. And with the big fake-out, his death would not be as shocking anymore.

Yeah, bitch nuts does get his creative one liners time to time and Glenn just really hasn't played as large or a role since his fake out, maybe intentionally. That very well might have been done to dull the shock value as they say. Still like Glenn more than Abe though probably just because he has been around since the beginning though.

I believe it will be Glenn as well. But this whole situation was completely jumbled. Faking his death and the cliffhanger both reduce the shock of the most shocking moment of the entire comic book run. In the comics, the event happened FAST, so the reader had no opirtunity to prepare for the bliw. We were just left with our jaws hanging open.

In the show, we are given a 7 month cool down period to prepare for the event. Badly done.

Yeah, by the time it airs, most probably are not even going to care who it is anymore and probably will be comfortable with anyone. They will just want to know who. From a show perspective, it I agree, it was poorly done but from a promotional perspective for the up coming season, there might not have ever been anything done better. Everyone's talking about it and probably still will be overall the entire summer. I bet ratings for the episode 1 premiere might be higher than they have been in some time.

While you may be right, and I have made that same argument myself on this exact issue, as a die-hard fan of the #1 show on all of TV, I feel betrayed by that strategy. They have sacrificed the one event I have been waiting approx 4 years for in favor of a ratings ploy that they likely dont even need. After all, this is the top rated show on TV, and the audience is probably already saturated.

I mean, it's certainly a valid gripe. It's not like the show is starving for ratings or anything.

Isn't that the guy that says shit like, "well, we might have so and so do X, then again, so and so might do Y"? Fuck whatever that guy says.

The funny thing is, this is exactly right as an example.

Gimple is a fucking asshole.

If they are going by the comics it should be Glenn. But I cant say I would be surprised if its Abraham or another substitute. Im not sure they pull the plug on Glenn and stay true to the comic.

It's such a big moment in the comics, I'm convinced it has to be an OG. I think for it to have the impact that the comics did, it has to be Glenn or Darryl. Everyone else, I can deduce out. It won't be a female. It won't be Rick or Carl. All the remaining men are not "big" enough. Abe, Eugene and Aaron are almost "big" characters, but just wouldn't have the impact that a Glenn or Darryl would.

I am convinced it's one of them. IMO, if it's anyone else, it's a chicken-shit, cop-out.

It's hard to say being as Daryl wasn't in the comics. If they are following the comics it should be Glenn. The only reasonable substitute is Daryl IMO. But they both have such a big fan following. As weak as it would be. I could see the writers substituting Abraham or a lesser character

Me too. That's what I'm afraid of.

I think Glenn makes the most sense, due to Maggie's role afterwards in the comics, which I assume will be similar on the show, as they've already hinted at it.

Too late.

In the comics it happened all at once, and the reader had no time to prepare for it. It was a sudden slap to the face.

On the show, they have taken that surprise element away. They have essentially said "A big death is coming. Go prepare for it and meet us back here in 7 months to discuss." The shock value has been completely lost.

If theyre staying true to the comics yes. The writers said they would be. But I could see them backing down. Then either killing Glenn off later or derailing from the comic. I agree it would be a chicken shit move but unfortunately I cant say I couldn't see them going that route. Did you read the comics before the show too BD?

True, but by now, most everybody has already heard about the comics and the "surprise" factor is somewhat extinguished already. Everybody knows it's GOING to happen....it's just a matter of to whom.
