So I thought this one was pretty good until I thought about it. The cast does not even know who was killed so the end of the guys video does not make a whole lot of sense, but the rest of it does...

Exactly! People are reading way too much into the wrong things. Maybe if this were real life and an actual case, there might be a point to overanalyzing the background, angles, which way his head turns, how many syllables in the nursery rhyme etc. But this is a show that doesn't always pay a lot of attention to those types of details. I think if anything they went out of their way to avoid people trying to figure it out by use of such methods.

Remember, this is the show that brought us this scene (skip to the van falling part).


Also I wouldn't even take Rick or Carl off the table just because of Negan's last line before the beating began. I doubt it was either of them for completely different reasons though. It very well could have been Carl he had lined up and the threat still would have been valid. If Carl's a goner either way, would his friends really want to see him painfully get his eye cut out before he gets killed? No reason it couldn't be Rick either.

His character has been way to even-keel and morally righteous leading up to this.

I still think it's bullshit to leave it on a cliffhanger though.

Apparently during the "Talking Dead" there were a ton of hints that were dropped about who it was. I for one have not watched that show ever..but one of the comments was about the guy who filmed the JFK assassination, apparently his name was Abraham. Also read where they hinted it was Abe when Denise went out looking for that soda. It was an orange crush. Now we all know she was killed instead of Abe, so this is where Abe steps up and gets it...IDK....there are so many theories. I guess the head bashing scene was filmed alone with Negan, not one of the cast members were actually there for that.

I think the videos that have been posted are compelling enough.....the glancing both ways as he threatens Carl, and the slowed down audio in the other video was cool too.

I get why they did it, and I mean other than just for money and fan-fare, and I get why fans think it's cheap and are pissed about it.

It just doesn't bother me that much. I realize that there has to be breaks in the season, and that openers and finales need to be "epic". (<---hate that word)

I think it makes sense to do it the way they did, so that the opener is a big event en sech. It's cheap and predictable, but it's a show about zombies, that's been on the air since 2010 I expected it, so I guess it didn't bug me that much. The show has always had flaws.
