  1. I really like EHB's team, but a couple of things jacked him up. His lineup is a mess IMO.....I wouldn't have worried about R/L with those hitters. He has a stud lead-off in Boggs, then goes Musial(great hitter, but Gwynn is a PERFECT 2 hole), then Torre????(has to be Bonds), then Bonds(great spot for Musial). I know that's 4 LHH's in a row, but you can't give Torre more AB's than Bonds.....EHB also has one of the greatest pitchers ever in Mathewson, but the rest of his SP/RP aren't as strong as 500 . He made some great picks, but I have to lean 500

EHB has a horribly constructed line up - but despite that, 500 has only 2 LHP on his entire team. The biggest advantage in all offensive splits is LHH vs. RHP, and that's what's gonna happen for EHB 75% of the time.

I don't think either team is gonna kill it with their pitching staffs, and it's just gonna be an offensive slugfest.

I have EHB in 6.

Maybe I didn't need to alternate righty lefty but I doubt it should hurt doing what I did. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having Musial bat 2nd and Bonds bat 4th. Torre 3rd is simply so you won't face 4 straight lefties. And let's not forget Torre is a 297 hitter who made 9 all star games and won an MVP. You could do a lot worse not to mention I think people 1. Over rate the importance of the 3 hole hitter and 2. Over rate how much a lineup matters in a 7 game series. Unless you have a L/R weakness IMO the order doesn't matter that much.

I also think my pitching while not great behind Mathewson is still decent. Veal had a career 3.07 era, cuellars was 3.14 and he won a cy young, rijo had 6 straight sub 3.00 era seasons, and harder was one of the best pitchers of the 30s and led the league in era once. So yea they aren't ridiculous but I don't think they're bad.

I vote 500 but I feel a couple of players are easy outs LOL.

Seriously EHB has a great team but agree with uk's post.

I agree with EHB about his rotation, it's pretty good. I just can't wrap my mind around Gwynn hitting 6th. IF you wanna keep away from 4 straight lefties that's fine but bat him 2nd and move Stan to 5. I like both teams added an arm to the ben instead of a 6th bench player. I am not a fan of Boggs leading off but you are kinda set up as a station to station team so it works, I have literally typed the winner now 3 times and changed it, I think the fact even though EHB has his lineup all goofy the fact he is lefty strong and the only lefty he faces is Downing is gonna be a pretty nice thing for his club, I guess I lean EHB.

I think 500's team is more balanced and complete. I lean his way

This is a close one. Much closer than I first thought. I keep on looking at ehb's lineup and wanting to shake the crazy out of him and fix that lineup. Anyone complaining about ehb's rotation is clearly not looking hard into 500s rotation because it is not much better if even better.

I think I will stay with ehb since he just has better players on the offensive side and although it is set up ugly it is not like he has shit on top before bonds. He has great players outside of torre.

I do like 500s bullpen more. But not enough better to give him the win.

Do we just hate torre here? Cuz really I just don't see the big deal with the lineup. Not trying to argue abut votes just curious on everyone's thoughts. @blstoker @UK Cowboy @MilkSpiller22
Torre has no business getting more AB's per game/series/season than Bonds and Gwynn. The difference between all these teams is so small, a lineup that's out of whack can be the difference. I would have gone

Boggs
Gwynn
Bonds
Musial
Torre
McCovey
Sandberg
Averill
Vizquel

This leaves you lefty heavy, but your top 4 would hit lefty/righty fine

At the HS level, your best hitter has to hit one or two .In MLB, he has to hit 3 .The only time he is for sure a 3 hole is the first inning, after that it's wherever he falls next AB . You hit him 3rd in the 1st inning to maximize his RBI chances, but if you drop him to 4, you're taking away AB's. Unless you have Ruth, Bonds should hit 3, and there's no way he should hit behind Torre

nothing wrong with torre at all... He was a very good batter... But it looks like you are just trying to hide a righty... There is no need to do that with Boggs Musial and Bonds...

Looking at your offense and how lefty dominant you were I don't see one easy lineup... But the lefty dominance should not have mattered in this matchup... so I would have not even took into account separating... after all separating is only really an advantage vs relievers...

for this matchup: I would have had

1. Boggs
2. Gwynn
3. Bonds
4. Musial
5. McCovey
6. Torre
7. Sandberg
8. Visquel
9. Averill

Unfortunately, no matter what you would have likely lost in the next rounds since other teams had better L/R balance in their pitching staff...
