Robert Griffin III signs with Browns. I like the RG3 signing. He was hurt a lot. But he was good (at least from a fantasy perspective). If the Browns do not try to force a square peg into a round hole and let him do his thing and not insist that he become a pocket passer, I say RG3 is a top 10 QB.

Reuben Randle signs with Eagle. To me he just signed away his fantasy relevance. Too crowded for me with Matthews and Agholor. Especially with Bradford at the helm.

The problem was not the Redskins coaching as much as it was RG3. He dictated that Shanahan use him as a pocket passer, and the rest was history. If he allows Jackson to scheme to get him out of the pocket, he can be successful. If he is just a pocket passer, he will be a bottom 5 QB.

815 rushing yards and 7 TD his rookie season (15 games)
489 rush yards the next season (13 games)

Doesn't seem that RG3 was listening to his own volition to be a pocket passer.

There were very few designed runs for RG3. He scrambled a lot because he is not equipped to make quick decisions. He often defaulted to run because he lacked the skills to go through his progressions.

All this was year 2. Year 1, everything was based off read option.

If they force RG3 to stay in the pocket then he may not have any fantasy relevance. But if they let him scramble, then he could have some value IMO. Maybe not for the city of Cleveland since those kind of QB tend to put up big stats, but maybe not put up the "wins."

 Saw a blurb that said Denver passed on RG3 because of "character" issues. So Mark Sanchez is a better option than RG3.

Josh Hill signs tender with Chicago. Word is that the Saints can match the offer but probably won't.
Saints matched. :L

Trent Richardson... the Ravens are listening... per Rotoworld:
Free agent Trent Richardson admits he "got lazy" early in his NFL career, and also called friends and family constantly asking him for money "mentally exhausting."

Although there are narratives that Richardson failed due to poor vision, or because he's an "Alabama running back," T-Rich has been a bust due primarily to personal reasons. "It's very easy to get lazy in the NFL — not having everything scheduled and not having everything like at Alabama where it was so structured," Richardson said. "In the NFL, everything's on your own." Richardson also said he bought cars for friends and family and "somehow got stuck with paying for five funerals that were each at least $12,000." T-Rich also revealed that he financed week-long trips for people to places like Disney World, "And people still had the nerve to complain about the trip." Richardson said he's cut out the freeloaders and has resumed working hard. He has a deal in place with the Ravens that will become official once Richardson reaches certain "physical benchmarks." Richardson weighed 238 pounds at his February Ravens visit.

RG3 is a paradox. He's only "worth it" in a system that allows him to do the read option and/or move outside the pocket and improvise, and when he does that he's very very good. The problem is he's far too fragile to play that style at this level, so he'll never be a great asset fantasy wise. A guy you'd love to have and start while he's paying in that type of system, but one you can't pin your hopes on for the duration of a season, or bring in decent trade value. Nice QB2 to have, not the guy your banking on though.

As for TRich? I'll believe it when I see it. Personal issues can surely account for a lot of things that went wrong, but not all of them, and some were so damned big that not even the Raiders kept him on the roster. Besides, anyone that's so easily distracted that he can't hit the hole the play was designed for isn't long for the league anyways.

Also, RG3 may not be willing to play that way. He wasn't in Washington after the injury.

Can't say that I blame him either

Except that he is a bad pocket passer and he does not put in the prep time necessary to improve.

Jay Ajayi ...speaking of a paradox...
With the trading of Lamar Miller, he looked poised to be a 3-down back. But then the Fins went after C.J. Anderson. Oops. Once that fell through, the Fins have been openly seeking a RB trade. Plus Adam Gase has said he wants a "stable" of RB.

Yep - glad for Miller that he got away from there. ....

Jared Cook signs with the Packers. Really not sure what to think? Packers have been looking for a TE for some time now. No one seems to fit. Cook is 28. A younger Richard Rodgers (23) seemed to turn the corner catching 8 TD passes last season. But Jordy was out all year. And Lacy was loading up on cheese fries.

Lacy looks lean. Jordy will be back. May want to avoid a potential GB TE committee.

@Stomp yeah I saw that too. Believe the blurb hinted that the Packers may be done with free agent moves which is why Hillman was a "poke."

Cook routinely failed to make the plays as a Ram.
Last time I checked, QBs just throw it, they don't catch it as well.

I doubt he has anything more than 2-3 fantasy relevant weeks, the rest will be 2-3rec for 30-40yds.

LaFell is a Bengal. In my opinion, this is great news for Dalton, or any other Bengal. I was a little shocked that they allowed both Sanu and Jones to leave, but to me, LaFell is every bit as good as either of them and a great compliment to AJ Green. Their offense should keep rolling just as well as last year

I think this may actually be an extremely rare case where an ex-Patriot does BETTER on his new team. In New England, LaFell had to share passes with Gronk, Edelman, and Amendola. LaFell posted 37 receptions for 515 yards with zero TD. But for Cincy, he could assume the WR2 role vacated by Marvin Jones (as well as Mohamed Sanu), which means that his receptions could double and so might his yardage (Jones had 65 receptions, 816 yards and 4 TD with Cincy last season).

Vernon Davis signs with Skins. Far as I'm concerned, this is insurance in case Jordan Reed gets hurt. And he will get hurt.

I don't understand the Colin Kaepernick rumors? I've seen where Chip Kelly said the Niners are NOT trading him and they plan on keeping him. Then I see a blurb today that Denver says Kaps would have to take a pay-cut to join the Broncos.

Well Chip can't very well come out and say he doesn't want him, and still expect a decent return when they do finally trade him. Even though I think Kaeps fits great with a Kelly offense, I can't see a way forward for that marriage. He's going to be dealt or cut, and Denver is the only logical landing spot at this point. And with the Donkey's cap situation, he'd have to take a pay cut to make it work. So unless he wants to spend another year holding a clipboard for a guy he's simply better than, he'll have to accept that cut and suit up for the orange and blue. ..where, by the way, he doesn't fit in at all, but will be nice for the run game.

A true threat running the ball, running Kubiak's version of the zone blocking run game? With some real read option stuff thrown in and DT and Sanders keeping defenses honest? CJ would be a hot commodity again
