My goodness... I loved the first Cloverfield film. It's probably my all time favorite monster movie! To each..... his own, I guess?

This sequel will be released March 11, 2016.

How the heck did JJ Abrams keep this production a secret? I guess everyone was so focused on his Star Wars films, he was able to sneak away and make a Cloverfield sequel without anybody noticing!

I can hardly wait!

Looks like they did away with the awful 'found footage' conceit. So it's got that going for it at least. Oh and a kinda hot girl in a white tank top.

I DO still want the camcorder battery from the first one though. That sucker rocked.

That was actually legit imo. With the ending of the first just that monster looking down on the last remainder of the guy with the camera. It left it open. hashtag am i remembering it right?

I loved Cloverfield, I actually got sucked into the ARG they had for that.

Are we sure this is a sequel? Beside the name "Cloverfield" there doesn't seem to be any tie to the original, Matt Reeves and Drew Goddard aren't associated with this movie... at least from what I can tell.

Damn... I'm with Innermind wondering how the hell they kept this a secret?

I liked the first one, but wasn't a fan of the 1st person filming they used during certain points in the movie. It was still a pretty cool film. I'm lookin forward to this. Reminds me of a really good horror flick I watched a few months ago called Hidden. Was about a family hiding in a bunker trying to survive an apocalyptic wasteland of sorts. I would highly recommend it.

I really liked the first one once I got past the fact that the guy was gonna risk facing all these monsters and endangering his friends to get across town so he can check on his girlfriend. Besides that, I thought it was a pretty good ol' monster movie. If Abrams is involved, this one should be worth the watch.

Also, this isn't a true sequel from what I have read... it had zero ties to Cloverfield before Paramont decided to reshoot and change the title. Makes me suspicious of a money grab

It is worth seeing, and the camerawork isn't all-over-the-place like you'd see in "found footage" movies like Cloverfield or The Blair Witch Project.
