Goodell is a polesmoker
hopefully the war gets worse over there.
Scott Tolzien of the Packers might be a FA. He would be a good signing for the Skins. If they keep Griffin we still wouldnt have a decent QB.
As far as Kirk goes, I think he is good. Im just not a fan of the one year rental option because in the end it usually doesnt work out. If we are going to be looking for a QB any way, I would rather just let McCoy start and draft some one to groom.

How else can anyone see it differently? Let him sign elsewhere and start McCoy as you groom your newly drafted QB this season. That's a bold move... Idiotic too. Listen, Cousins sits in a very comfortable chair. Redskins cant let him walk and he knows it, agent knows it and even SM knows it. This is leaning towards a tag... What type remains to be seen. Have until the first of march to figure it out... And im sure they will.Interesting you see it that way.

Once again... What are the pros of the tag vs. a long term deal before 3/1??
Pros- With the cap, You get more time to work out a reasonable long term deal AND most importantly, you get more time to evaluate Cousins in camp, pre-season and possibly up to the midpoint in the season. Make sure he wasn't just a flash in the pan. If Cousins performs great, he gets big $$$. If he flops, he can walk, and the team isn't crippled by another big contract from a mediocre QB.
With a LT deal. You might be able to get him at a bargain and not risk losing him if he blows it up next year.
Cons- We pay him big money NOW (even though, as someone else said, he still has a little to prove) ans he is a dud. OR if we cap him and he kills it, he tests the waters and we end up losing him.
I'm torn, but tend to want to sign him if it is a realistic number.
I guarantee you the outs are the issue. It's not the money. Just like the rest of us, I'm sure SM wants to be able to get out of the deal at some point with minimal damage if KC turns into a one year wonder. The total contract value rarely means much as most contracts never reach maturity. Most players are either released or renegotiated before their contract is up.I think the tag isnt a bad option at all, but if its an extension with outs Im down too.

I have decided I will go under the premise that the Redskins will screw this up until such time as we actually DONT screw it up.
