That prediction was made based off tOSU playing a 3rd string QB and I thought FSU was a 5 loss team that was lucky to be there. I and other Bama fans last year repeatedly said that our secondary was awful last year during the season. We had a good run D and a great attitude, but we were nowhere near talented enough to win it all. We had a fucking RB playing QB.
LOL!!!! Is this a serious question?? Ohio State will have to get their run game going to move the ball and our run D is too stout.

Alabama has the best Red Zone defense in the country. Even if OSU does move the ball they will have to settle for field goals.

Sims was awful.

And Elliot ran all over you guys.

Except what happened was the deep middle of the field started being abused by Ohio St for large gains which then opened up the running game.

And a great deal of Elliots yards came after injuries to the middle of our D line late in the game. For example the 85 yard TD run came 1 play after we lost Reggie Ragland to injury. Urban was smart and attacked the backup as soon as he came in, the guy went to the wrong gap and Elliot went the distance.

Outside that the only thing the running game was doing that was noticable was that Elliot and Cardale always fell forward for an extra yard or 2.

I'm not sure where this history is coming from. Ohio state had like 80 yards rushing on their first offensive series in which Cardale did not complete one pass

Will be a pretty embarrassing loss if Urban Cryer comes into Norman with half a roster and beats Stoops.

I will give that. I forgot about Ragland going out.

Yep, classic Bama fan. Making excuses after the fact. The facts are not one Bama fan thought they would lose that game and that Zeke would put up 220 on them alone :laugh3:

You should watch that play again. Two words: Evan Spencer.

The same guy that made a perfect throw on the trick play-reverse pass for a TD

didn't complete and didn't attempt are 2 different things.

Elliot had a good run on the opening drive, then Alabama adjusted. Then things got shut down a good bit and Cardale opened things back up with his legs and arm.

But hey, if you want to think Alabama fans are just wrong about the weaknesses on our team, then ok.

Take away the 85 yard run and Elliott still has 19 carries for 145 yards and a TD, which is damn impressive (7.6 YPC). Your excuse is insanely weak. Saying that one substitution would've magically made that play not happen is pathetic.

His backup did.

I don't think you or any Bama fan is wrong about the strengths and weaknesses. The strength was definitely the run defense and weakness was definitely the pass defense. The strength of Bama did get abused in that game and it started from the very beginning.

Go look at the play by play on 3rd downs and tell me who kept Ohio St in it and how.

I'll give you a hint - it was Cardale Jones with his arm and legs.

3rd and 6, Cardale runs for 12 yards.
3rd and goal, Cardale incomplete pass.

3rd and 8, Cardale runs for 20 yards.

And btw, the biggest asset with the Cardale was his size. He feel forward like crazy and was like a 2nd RB. I don't think you win that game with your other 2 QB's. Alabama was not ready for that.

In fact, Urban is best when he has a big huge QB like that.

The pass rush was non-existent. But your LBs not being able to spy jones is a running game issue.

lol. Well the roster will be full of underclassmen that were highly prized if that helps at all. I don't know how many people OU is losing this year, but the matchup seems to favor OU if they have experience returning.

I wasn't speaking of just Elliot's running but the whole team including Cardale. We agree in that it wasn't all Elliott. What I disagree is with the pretense of a RB getting 220 yards on a team as just "getting his yards"

Uh huh. Spencer would've taken care of Ragland just like he did his replacement. Any other gap and he wouldn't have even been close to Zeke anyhow. We blocked and executed that play to perfection.

3rd down killed Alabama that day. Ohio State was 10-18 while Bama was 2-13.

Elliott was definitely one of the things that beat Alabama that day too. To say otherwise is just silly...he had 230 yards and 11 ypc. So even if you take away his 85 yard run, he would have had 145 yards on 19 carries for 7.5 ypc. Bama's defense as a whole gave up 537 yards, 200 more than their average for the year.

They simply got mauled by Ohio State's offense that game the way basically every team Ohio State ran up against in the 2nd half of the year did.

No need for revisionist history when the stats are available.
