Not that Gavin Escobar has light up the NFL but he tore his Achilles and will require surgery. I know Doctors can do amazing stuff nowdays but that is a serious injury. I wish him well in his recovery but its a long road to travel.

Terrible news, wish him the best!

TE is looking to be even more of a need, now.

Seems like we are about due to draft a TE in the second round anyway.

Complete BUST. I hated the pick at the time. The 7th rounder Swaim is a way better player. Escobar can't block. He is not fast enough to be a WR or strong enough to be a TE

If we draft a TE in the 2nd round again I am going to get pisst

I'm not saying it will happen, but I will not be surprised a bit if it does. Dallas has developed a little bit of a tradition.

Need an upgrade at the position anyways. As much as I love Witten, he is older and runs a 5.5 and gets tackled by the wind, just short the first down.

These days in the NFL you need a TE to be a playmaker, Witten is no longer that. Not saying cut him, but we need fresh legs.

I agree. I have sad this for a couple of yrs. The outsiders look at our offense and say wow Dallas has Dez and a Hall of Fame TE. That's a true statement, but Witten isn't the same player he was a few hrs ago. He is a nice compliment now. This team needs weapons.

If we can get one that can run and make plays, it would open up things. Escobar was a bad pick right idea. He is too slow. Bennet didn't get enough of a chance because we are stuck on Witten. Witten, IMO, holds our offence back.

depends on what this offense wants to be.
4 wides and you're most likely correct but I'm not sure about 3 wides and a RB

He's an average TE now with no playmaking ability. He won't outrun anyone. Won't run over anyone, can't make anyone miss. Can't out jump anyone. He's good for being just short on 3rd down. He can block. He needs a lesser role in the passing game.

blocking is pretty important based on the resources spent at oline. I don't like the redskins TE (Reed) and you're talking about that kinda player. Besides, lacking speed and all....Wit gets open on 3rd and 5 with that option route thing with Romo better than any tightend in football. I'm fine with a somewhat reduced role as father time is certainly gaining on Jason.

You don't like Reed because of who he plays for or you just don't like him as a player?

you watch football?
the guy can't block me and worse...isn't interested in blocking. Coupled with his 2 to 3 penalty's per game and that sould tell you it has nothing to do with the burgundy & yellow uni.

some fans actually appreciate effort

your lips move but you don't say shit

let me slow it down for you. Thus far, Dallas has indicated they want to be balanced when all is right. Now to me, that wouldn't seen to be Jimmy or Jimmy 2.0 at TE. Blocking abilities seem to matter in THIS offense

BTW....my wife watches a lot of football too

Well if that's the case we need another WR. This offense has always had two big threats to throw to. Whether it was T.Oand Wit, or Miles and Wit, or Dez and Wit. Now it's just Dez. I said yesterday Wit is complimentary player now.
