Honestly, there was a shitload of it.
When Carl was talking to Ron it seemed like the director said, "just do your best Rick Grimes impersonation, you know, say shit like, 'look, I get it...'"
.
I think the bottom line is that they have a LOT of ongoing story arcs and some are pretty good, and some they seem to think we care more than we do. Again, does anyone REALLY give much of a shit whether the doctor lady lives or dies? And the whole Ron/Carl thing just irks me. I.... DON'T.... CARE.... No room for pre-teen angst right now and it really doesn't interest me in the slightest. Carl's "I'm an apocalypse survivor badass!" routine doesn't impress me. I'm ready for Carl to leave us. And quite frankly the Glenn and Maggie arc has run its course to the point where I don't need a constant reminder that they are married and love each other, etc, etc, etc... WE GET IT!!! Now Glenn must save the princess from the tower surrounded by baddies!!!! Oh Noes!!!
Darryl, Abraham, Sasha good.... Morgan vs. Carol, good.... Rick, Michonne, Rosita, et al. Getting somewhere.
Seriously, what shows last this long and are still good? It's probably time to wrap it up.
It's got to be Abe. No way can they afford to kill Daryl off. The ratings would drop significantly. When we get back from the break there is going to be a lot of carnage at least. Bye Jessie and her stupid children.
Also, Daryl or Abraham?? Whose getting Negan'd in the season finale??
AMC's cash cow. Ain't gettin' wrapped up for a long time. Unfortunately, cash cow also equates to being lazy and coasting on your laurels.
That's the long way of saying "some good stuff, but a ton of shit." The meh finale has me thinking much less of the season than I did after the first few episodes, and after a shitty last season, I just don't think it's headed in the right direction.

It'll have to be zombie bush!Yeah, that's why I said earlier that they'll probably just run this thing into the ground. Maybe they'll turn it around, which would be cool. Maybe they'll move it to HBO and show us Brekenridge's bush.

See, I don't think that it needs to be wrapped up. They just need to understand what it is that makes folks watch week in and week out and continue to be a bit clever with it while advancing the story along...
I mean I'm SO unsatisfied with the way the Doctor/Wolf/Carol/Morgan thing went down. It makes ZERO sense and resolved nothing and left us with a, "Eh, so what?" taste... Unless they are going to ultimately tell us that Morgan's speeches had an impact on the wolf guy, there is NO reason why he didn't slaughter everyone in that room based on the rhetoric he was giving us earlier... So the fact that he takes a hostage and leaves with her is a complete departure from the writing in previous episodes. No.... That is NOT what this guy would do based on EVERYTHING you told us about him leading up to this!
And again with Carl/Ron... No one cares! I mean really. NOBODY!

No shit. @mr.hockey4242 has about a dozen posts complaining that Daryl hasn't been getting enough air time lately. I picture his house decorated with a lot of Daryl Posters.

Oh, and the above is a generic rant directed at the overall thread, not you specifically Chef.
Kind of ironic with your Avatar actually. I wouldn't piss on that guy if he was on fire, and yet he makes GREAT TV. Me hating him is him making great TV (even though I don't watch)
Mentioned it twice about how golden it would be to work on a show to be a regular and not get paid.
I bitch about them always splitting up the group and telling a seperate storyline each episode so we get nowhere fast.
Hopefully your reading ability or lack there of, will fully grasp this.
