I don't think KC's performance against the Saints was a fluke. Of course he, along with the entire team deserve credit for an absolutely outstanding performance.

But this game tomorrow is very, very winnable. And its why IMO, its the most important game in KC's young career. If the team plays well, and KC delivers the goods then we might have something. If the team plays well, and KC doesn't, then I will be concerned.
I guess it depends on how he plays. Carolina had a very good defense and many good QBs struggle against them. So if he doesn't play well tomorrow, I'm not going to concerned automatically. He is still going to have bad games. Everyone does. We need to wait to pass final judgement after the season when we can take a look at his entire season. So I guess I kinda agree that this game is the most important game in his career.....until next week. At this stage, every game is important to KCs growth and ultimate evaluation. We just need to stop proclaiming his career as a backup or starter after every game.

ITs a win-win for KC and here his why. If he does well then KC will be anointed the franchise QB of the Redskins. It would be a statement game for KC. IF he doesn't do well we shouldn't read to much into it b/c we are not supposed to beat CAR with there great defense.

KC proved that he is a starter in this league. He is going to be signed back with us. The contract will depend on how well he finishes and if he takes this team to the playoffs by winning the division. Lets hope he kills it tomorrow so we can put the bed of all the controversy of the QB position on our team.

He did?

actually yea, he has.

I guess it depends what you mean by starter. If you mean he is one of the leagues 32 starting Quarterbacks then yea.

If you mean he is one of the leagues good QBs you can entrust your franchise too then no.

WE been through this before.. IF not Kirk, who would you entrust this team to right now realistically. And by that I mean some one that isnt on another roster, could start and gives this team a better chance to win??

You were willing to give Bob 5 years to prove he was a decent QB... can Kirk get a single season?

Oh God not this again. Why does everybody keep acting like I hate kirk and think he shouldn't start all year?

All I said was he hasn't proven he can be our franchise QB.

That's fair. What will it take for you to be comfortable to declare him this franchise's QB?

And for the millionth time you brought bob into it. Why? Cuz I sure as hell didn't. I also didn't say he needed 2 more years like you claim. I honestly think you confuse me with somebody else cuz you've made comments like that a couple of times that im not sure where you're getting these things from.

That would probably take a while. Probably good play through some point next season if not all next season. But he can do a lot to convince me this year and he can certainly (and most likely will) do enough to earn an extension this year. He just has to play well consistently. I want a QB we can win a Super Bowl with someday. We'll see if kirk can be that guy.

Maybe because for the past month and a half you have been one of the few people to STILL defend Griffin and are quick as rabbit fuck to point out that Kirk ISNT a franchise QB. I agree he isnt a franchise QB. But I also dont think he needs to be one. We have wasted countless years and resources looking for a franchise QB.

And I bought Bob into it, because from your posts over the last month and a half, I get the feeling you still think he should have been the starter.

Just saying.

Haven't been defending Griffin. Hence why I say I think you're confusing me. You've got an unhealthy obsession with that dude.

As for Cousins we just disagree on what we want out of our starting QB and how close Cousins is to being that but we already knew that lol.

And I've said I was happy with Kirk starting all year and have called for him to be benched a solid 0 times sooooo

OK so MAYBE I have misread you. But statements like

Cousins has been no better than Griffin. Gruden should be gone because he failed to develop Griffin. And Griffins failures are not all his own and partly to blame on Shanahan and Gruden do sort of sound like you are defending him. ( IM para Phrasing a little mind you)

So if I misread you... my bad.

As for what we want out of Cousins.. I want a solid QB that allows the team to build going forward. IF we get more than that great. But I DONT want to see us spend another few years and tons of draft picks chasing the golden one and ignoring the rest of the team as we have been the past 15 years.

If Cousins is still the starting QB in 4 years he will still be learning. If he isn't then we have the wrong QB starting right now. Brady confirmed this when they talked after the game a few weeks ago. That is the key to being a good athelete. Different sport but Jordan, Magic, Bird and LeBron didn't think they arrived after 2 years.

I have criticized Kirk for being just as bad as RG3 at times although I do think Kirk is the better QB.
I didnt like the Griffin made zero progress if not regressed under Gruden - and I dont put that blame solely on Gruden, yes RG3 is to blame too. More than one person can take the blame IMO.

As for Cousins, Ive been fully on board with Kirk starting all year and I have not called for him to be benched. So thats why I dont like being labeled the RG3 guy or the guy who hates Kirk. I want Kirk to start and I want him to succeed as much as possible. I hope he's the next Tom Brady.

That being said...I dont think he is the next Tom Brady. Going into this season he had done nothing to convince me he was more than a backup. At this point in the season Im a little more optimistic but really if I had to bet - I dont think he'll end up being good enough to be a teams long term QB. And thats just off what I see. The main point I think people miss though is this - I want him to succeed. Im just not going to lie to myself and say he's better than I really think he is just because I want him to be good.

As for what we need at QB, it all depends what solid is to you. I want a guy who can be a (at least) a big part of the reason we win a Super Bowl not a guy we have to build a perfect team around just to make it there.

I would be quite happy if Cousins became the next Joe Theisman or Trent Green. Having been a fan of the team for 50+ years the best we have had in that time was Jurgensen. Joe T and Green were probably the next best and Green was here for a very short time.

No respect for the blond boy wonder Jay Schroeder ?

He passed for 4,109 yards, a team record that still stands. You’ve heard of The Posse? They were born that year as Art Monk was in his prime, Gary Clark made his first Pro Bowl and Ricky Sanders got his NFL feet wet. The Redskins were 12-4 and went to Chicago and beat the defending “Super Bowl Shuffle” champion Bears in the playoffs before falling in the NFC title game. Sure, Schroeder only completed 51 percent of his passes and threw 22 touchdowns to 22 interceptions. But the league average was only 55 percent completions and a nearly equal number of TD’s (586) and picks (581) were thrown that year. Between the yards and the wins, Schroeder’s 1986 deserves some kudos.

A lot of people think the game against the Saints was a fluke.

Nobody saw that game as a fluke, in fact it was the norm.

"Brady ranks No. 1 in the NFL in quarterback rating heading into Week 10 with a 113.5 mark. The Saints defense has surrendered a passer rating of 112.0 through its first nine games. This means the Saints defense has allowed quarterbacks like Jameis Winston, Brandon Weeden, Marcus Mariota, Sam Bradford and Carson Palmer to play like Brady when they face New Orleans."

Saints turn opposing QBs into Tom Brady, so no wonder they're 4-5: Larry Holder

Winston and Bradford had an 88.

Luck was only an 81.

The Saints had a bad defense and our QB was better than Matt Ryan, Carson Palmer, and Cam Newron against them is how I would look at it. Just say in'.
