I know its the Saints defense but you have to give credit to all the offensive players today. Plus the defense holding the Saints to 14 points spoke volumes to me. I was very impresses with the defense today. If it wasn't for the missed tackle by Gholsten to spring Ingram we played lights out today on defense. We should be tied for 1st place assuming the Giants lose.

It's nice to have games with meaning this late in the year. Doubt we can win in Carolina but after that we'll have our chances. But it's really good to see is the improvement of Kirk Cousins. What a great game he played.

All and all a good game all around by the team. Sadly the Giants are on a bye this week giving them no chance of losing, and two weeks to prepare for us. As i also mentioned in another thread earlier this season, i can remember a season where we have played so many teams coming off the bye or the mini bye ( having played on a Thursday in the game before they face us). So we get Carolina on the road, the Giants coming off the bye, and Dallas coming off the mini bye in the next three games. These three games will likely decide our season and in a broader sense, the next three weeks will determine the division as a whole.

Yep. Regardless of the results for the rest of the season these type of games definitely show growth for this team. Despite numerous injuries the O line has persevered and done pretty well. Hopefully - the same will be the case for the secondary and maybe the LB group.

This team obviously still needs an influx off talent over the next few years, but SM thus far appears to be doing what was expected of him. Let's hope this keeps going in the rt direction.

What this shows is we are no longer a bottom feeder and can beat bad teams. The next step is to beat good teams.

Yep & this also shows that we all need to be patient with the current approach (myself included). Heck - all you have to do is look at yesterday's game. Early on it appeared as if this would be a shootout and the Redskins defense would struggle again. They completely turned it around within the game.

This defense will still likely struggle at times (maybe a lot), but the rebuilding is starting to show at least some promise. With a defense all it really takes is the addition of a few impact players to make a huge difference. If SM does his magic over the offseason we could see big dividends next season. The key again is patience which is tough both for the organization and fans. I definitely have high hopes for this organization over the next few years (but like a lot of folks don't always view things in a positive manner).

The more I think about this the more difficult it is to determine the eventual win count for the Redskins this season. This not so much based on the Redskins but rather on the inconsistent games this season for their opponents. The Redskins are certainly not the only Jekyll and Hyde team in the NFL.

Teams like the Giants, Bears and Eagles play so differently every week & are pretty much capable of winning or losing just about every game. The Cowboys are also a tough one to call. Their fans seem to just believe that magically all problems will disappear when Romo returns but who knows. We also don't know if Romo will be 100% when he returns or even possibly incur another injury (which is always possible given his age & injury history).

The only game that appears to be a likely loss is against the Panthers. However - even that could go in the other direction. We have recently witnessed teams like the Broncos and Packers go into slump when they previously appeared almost unbeatable. Should be a fun remainder of the season.

As you said we are Jekyll and Hyde ourselves. Good at home and not so good on the road. Trying to predict wins and losses looking at the schedule is just too hard for me. I have agreed with dad in the past as whole that 6 wins seems about right. I wouldn't be upset if they could get 7. :thumb:

Yep - that is the trend & save for the Falcons game their road losses have been very one sided. However - things can change quickly in the NFL & the Redskins might finally be in halfway decent shape injury wise. A positive mind set can also have a big effect. Very hard to predict in this league. Just look at the Packers-Lions game yesterday. A very bad Lions team beats the mighty Packers at their place for the first time in 24 years.

A lot of interesting games still to be played.
