Got hammered last week, losing both Bell and Keenan Allen.
10 team league and I'm currently in 2nd place, so I still have a decent team.

Asked the Gurley owner what he would want, he said Gronk.

My team as of now:
Luck/Palmer
Shady, Ivory, Woodhead, LeVeon
Allen Robinson, Rishard Mathews, Cooks, Aiken, John Brown, Jordy Nelson
Gronk, Vernon Davis
Walsh
Denver DST

Gronk would cost me my best available pick next year, which would be my 2nd round pick since I am keeping Bell.
Gurley would cost my 3rd round pick next year, freeing up my 2nd round pick and allowing me to keep LeVeon (1st rd), Gurley (3rd rd), Jordy (14th rd), Robinson (10th rd), pending how the season plays out for Robinson, but all things considered, he looks pretty damn legit to me. High floor type WR that you have to have in standard leagues.

I'd do it, Can play musical chairs at TE the rest of the way, or even better, if VD can be serviceable with Manning..can't possibly be worse. ..you might not have to.

Next year you can snag Ertz or Ebron, or some other TE who looks like he might be good soon, but isn't there yet

For sure!

I traded Gronk in my keeper league (only keep one), because I drafted Gurley and would rather keep him.

Keep Gronk. Draft Fournette or Elliot.

Just a different take. RB's come and go real quickly. Gronk's don't.

Normally I would agree with this. I'm all in on Gurley. He's got "special" written all over him.

Yeah, I rode Tomlinson for 6 years in a keeper league like a rented mule. Won 3 times in those 6 years. Gurley could be that.

once he realized I was serious about giving him Gronk, he backed out.
He said he only said that cause he knew how much I liked Gronk and he didn't think I'd do it.

We've gone back and forth on trades almost every year, it seems, so he wasn't trying to offend me or anything.
What a stinker.

Monkey, it's too bad he didn't take it as far as making an actual offer. ;)

I actually sent him the offer after he said that, and that's when he pumped the brakes.
My eagerness might have thrown him off, but he lost Charles already this year, and still thinks he has a chance at a playoff run with Gurley.
He's currently losing the points tie breaker for the last playoff spot.
