Game Thread: Dolphins @ Redskins (week 1)

Because partly all today did was emphasize the mistake once again. Or did we all miss the screen shots of Griffin every time Cousins did something good or bad??

What today emphasized to me is that we had a shot to win. Lot of positives, some negatives. STs issues and penalties aren't on Griffin or the trade. And penalties destroyed our offensive drives more than anything IMO.

Actually I have said from day one it was a mistake. All this game proves is that yes in fact it was a mistake to trade for Griffin. Am I happy with the lose?? Not at all. But will i say i told you so?? Yep, fuck yea I told you so.

I always supported your stance at the time of that draft, to not pay that price for Griffin, didn't completely agree with it, but you had a right to state your opposition. Yours was the lone voice against it, but once done, the question to me was how best to develop the guy. There were two choices, Washington selected the wrong one. (see results). Interesting that you picked out the team name and supporters of the player (Griffin) as reasons, but may have? (I dunno) missed the intent of the article.........Dysfunction fatigue!

washington didnt select the wrong choice . the qb wasnt up to being a professional qb . we are in year 4 and he isnt active . most of this failure is on 3 and 3 alone

The results say the move was a mistake. And not so much because of team actions, but because of the player himself. I could agree that the team failed in not developing him into a pocket passer early on. But once the decision was made, it wasn't the teams failure in committing to making him a pocket passer. But his only failure in not being able to become one.

When you play against a team that's expected to be bad, you can apparently get away with cheating. Had Knighton stuck his thumb into Albert's eye intentionally, you can bet your last nickle he would have been penalized for it.

Nope...it does not, Dad's position all along has been to play the guy and hope that he learns, mine was properly train him first to decrease the odds that spread QB's have against them coming in. No guarantee that training was the better way, but with this guy, playing him certainly was not, he had to much to learn to go OJT.

That's interesting as I took dads position as what he posted. Th.at RG3 is responsible for not being professional and working hard to develop himself.. He chose to focus on other things and believed he was "developed". Thus he is responsible, 4 years later, for still not being a proficient NFL QB. Funny how two people can read the same thing and interpret it completely differently.

You seem t like metaphors, let's try this one; Two equally highly talented and intelligent guys walk into different offices and both are hired on the spot for exactly the same type of work neither knew nothing about. The first office relying solely upon their hire to adjust to the job quickly found their employee lacking the necessary foundation to properly function, while the other, after undergoing an extensive orientation and training regime became an valued employee.

You have inadvertently stumbled upon the truth in this response when you state that he chose to focus on other things and BELIEVED he was "developed. It really doesn't matter what he believed, when those around him who were responsible for the best interest of the team KNEW that he was not failed to act in a responsible manner. I'll give you, Dad and others credit for this, he is responsible for extremely poor judgment.

Even if he fades away and never takes another snap, you will always have to wonder... what could we have done with the 4 picks we gave up to get him. If we end up drafting a QB in the draft next year, or god forbid trading up to draft yet another QB, it will be because of the failure in the Griffin move. The last two years of futility are due in large part to RG3. If this year is a failure and he remains on roster, you can bet a large part of the drama will surround the name of RG3. And a shit ton of the moves going forward will be made in an attempt to make up for... stay with me here... .the mistake of RG3.

SO yes, like the ghost of NFL Past, present and future... like a foot locker filled with moldy cheese and left out in the middle of the dessert in summer... RG3 will haunt this team for a while longer and the stench will take a while to go away.

thanks for the credit of "stumbling" and "inadvertently" stating the truth. It's amazing that the rest of us can even carry on a half way intelligent conversation. This must be challenging for you as you constantly have to keep enlightening the rest of us. But I'm curious. How do you know some of those around him didn't try and act in a responsible manner, as you put it? I agree that they didn't succeed, but I have no insight that the shanahans and gruden and others haven't tried with this prima Donna. How do you have this insight?

Maybe, for some that will be true, but remember your original question to me (about the Wonder Boy followers) they believe as I do that the stench arrived long before he did. Looking back, I agree with you that drafting him was....now stay with me here........a mistake.
