Perfectly sums up my feelings. I may not have wanted Galette on this team, but I would never want a player injured.

This type of thing is happening all over the NFL - it is not just with the Redskins. BTW - oddly this type of thing spells out why they picked up a guy like this in the first place. Some people here were complaining that the Redskins already had enough pass rushing LBs. In today's NFL you can never have too much talent at one position since injuries are just a reality. No need to cry about it - just move one & in this case they should still be alright.

Oh I know injuries happen everywhere. I was referring to bad news and the inevitable 5 win seasons that just keep coming and coming with no end in sight with this team.

I was OK with the signing but also had reservations as did others. But there was no question he was going to be our best pass rusher, one look at the tape showed a quick explosiveness that none of the other guys have. So yeah a huge loss and hard to say if he'll ever regain that. And of course the thought "how many pass rushers do you need?" that I've read on this board is completely idiotic. You can never have too many pass rushers.

Was he not signed for 2 years or is this it?

Huge blow to our team. But I thought Jeffcoat earned a roster spot even without the Galette injury. I think the guy who wins in this situation is Bates. But when Breeland comes back that would mean someone has to go. Do we really cut Rodgers in favor of Bates?

well before we signed JR we were going with murphy and smith and that is what we are going with now

yes it hurts the defense however it can still be effective

we slap gallette on IR and hope for next season with him . it happened early for him so we will see

Thats bull pucky. If a guy is going to miss an entire season for injury, a suspension should be considered served as he will miss any team time any way.

Why? That is no punishment what so ever then, what would be the point of the suspension if it can be essentially erased with your suggestion?

For me it's frustrating. They sold their soul so to speak and went back on their word not to sign guys with troubled pasts, allowing La'el Collins to land in Dallas for free rather then spending a 7th on him, and now we don't even get the positives by actually seeing him on the field?

It was clear that his speed and explosion was much much different that Murphy or Smith. He was going to really make a difference, now we're back to a one man pass rush and we saw how that worked out.

I tend to think in cases like Galette where nothing aside from accusation is his only crime, the league should not be allowed to suspend the player in the first place. Thats like saying a guy is accused of stealing, there is no proof, but you still dock him two months pay. How is that fair?? As for Collins, tough tits we didnt take him and Dallas got him on the cheap.

As for our defense, yes Galette was going to make a difference, but I can only hope that some of the other guys we have can step into that role. Jeffcoat is no slouch. And remember Galette was an undrafted free agent. I think with the improvement to the D-line, we will see an over all better pass rush in general.
