He was at least considered top-5, but that foot issue scared some teams. He had that corrected while rehabbing from the broken leg. Reportedly he's lost 20 pounds, is looking extremely fit, and has been killing it on the practice court. Looking forward to seeing what this guy can do (or can't!).

Not to change the subject, but did anyone see the last play of the Heat Summer League game yesterday?
Perfect inbound pass by Winslow allowing Tyler Johnson to jump over the defender, hang in the air, and score the winning hoop..all in .4/second.

Well, this is another spectacular fail. How's Lou Williams a bad contract? He's the 6th man of the year and for $7 mil per, that's pretty nice. Bass simply agreed to a deal that hasn't been disclosed. If he signs for a contract similar to what Thompson is about to get, then yeah, it's pretty bad. But if it's on a contract similar to Lou Williams, you have a guy that can be plugged in as a decent rotation player. They are good gets in every sense as you need depth in this league.

Besides, I didn't see Lakers fans pounding their chest saying they're contenders now - that's what matters the most. Who gives a shit just barely making it in as the 8th seed and getting knocked out in the 1st round? I also would hesitate in putting either of the teams you just put mentioned ahead of the Lakers given 1) The Kings are always a mess and Rondo heads another head case dynamic. 2) Who do the Jazz have again? 3) The Suns just traded damn near half of their team, to only come up with Tyson Chandler. Wiggy will be Wiggy though.

As it stands now, The Lakers can pay Bass the room exception of $2.8mil. They can probably pay a little more depending on what the moving pieces are in the deal for Hibbert or if they can work a Lin S&T with Dallas.

I caught the first half of that game, but saw the game winning highlight. You have to be excited about getting Winslow at #10.

Nah Kings have the worse.

I hope you're joking, how do they have the worst team out West?
They have depth, 2 talented veteran point guards, an all star big, and a fringe all star in Rudy Gay.

Honestly watched very little NCAA last season except for the tourney.
Everyone thinks he was a steal.

I'll be in Vegas next week and will be checking out the Heat vs Celts next Tuesday.

I agree Lou Williams deal is a good one. I agree i think lakers did well here. They have improved themselves. Are they going to be great No but I think we will see a much better team. Think about it they are bring in 5 new guys(Randle, Russell, Hibbert, Bass and Williams.) Not bad.

purguy, I agree. Lakers fans know they likely won't be in the playoffs. But improvement is the big thing so they can attract the next tier in free agency. I want the Lakers to come back to prominence, parallel with the Heat. The trash talking of a Heat-Lakers finals would reach unholy levels. The word '****' may be thrown out quite a bit as well.

Yeah....Heat fans said the same thing after the 2013 Finals. Please review the 2014 Finals.

Haha that was two seasons ago. Manu didnt look too good last year, I thought he would hang it up. But why would he if the team got better. He might still be able to shoot but even his free throw shooting went down to 72% a career low. Duncan is a frek doing it at 39, but Manu is only 37 still putting up decent numbers for being a bench player but not much.

Manu does a little bit of everything.
Don't just look at his raw offensive numbers. With the emergence of K-Leonard, Manu was option #4.....and now option #5 behind Aldridge.

He is still a great defender. He might not be the lock down elite defender of his young self, but he is still good.
I still think he is one of the topdefensive guards in the league with more of a craftiness hidden style.

Offensively, He can play backup PG if needed. he can shoot the 3-ball. He can get to the rim. He hits free-throws.

Intangibly, He is the clubhouse vocal leader and assistant coach of sorts.

He definitely has value more than just taking up a bench spot.
Leadership and defense alone are worth whatever minimum type deal he signs.

Great defender...uh no. He is a good defender off the ball, on-ball he is just average now. Definitely lost 2 steps. He is still a good passer and can score inside. He might play more minutes this season bc the lack of depth isnt there for the Spurs like it has been in the past.

Who here thinks Rondo and Cousins can coexist? I'm guessing there might be some fisticuffs between the two in a few practices. Karl has his work cut out for him after alienating cousins already.
