He's already sticking to his stance, unless I missed it sales of merchandise hasn't spiked. Secondarily, wouldn't we actually see a spike in sales if the name changed? More so if as you state the team becomes more successful on the field.

On your other point, Everyone encounters people who support their particulat POV. That said, I have talked to many many folks who say the name should be changed, especially in light of the confederate battle flag BS. Reluctance is not reason, just an excuse.

I didn't miss anything, a more careful reading will make you aware that we actually agreed on this point. BTW: the counter to your "real fans" statement is one that says fans who abandon this team in the event of a name change are hardly football fans to begin with, much less DC fans.

NP - Snyder's belief system will tell DC to F off & pave the way for a move to No. Virginia which makes more sense in any case. Again - this likely won't take place for a very, very long time so this is just posturing by politicians & not much more.

Nope, Snyder is only 50 years old, if he lives to the ripe old age of 75 conservatively speaking, he will easily rake in a couple knots especially if he reboots the product and his franchise become a winning one. Keep in mind that merchandising includes naming rights as well as products.

First of all - except for the Cowboys - merchandise sales are pooled among NFL owners so that kind of counters your pt. Secondly - Snyder will make that money regardless & it will be impacted primarily by team success - not a name change.

BTW - as for your previous pt about me finding resistance on the name changed based on my beliefs. Wrong. I look for answers from all types of people & ask the question in an open ended manner. Your belief on this is just not supported by just about any surveys that have been conducted in the past. Survey after survey shows either indifference or opinions against the name change. For the most part - people who support the name change are probably like you - people who seek attention & like to argue about just about anything.
