First of all, I never buy what the talking heads say. I rate these moves as ho hum, won't effect anything. None of their signings will be around when the Lakers are good again. Hibbert and Lou aren't good enough to get them to the playoffs. Honestly, they should've just kept a junky roster in hopes of getting another lottery pick. I guess there is solid reasoning behind it though since it is Kobes last year. Lou is a good 6th man, but he won't make a big splash on a crappy team. Hibbert won't add much either.

As for the future, I see Russell really blossoming, but Randle is a bit of a stretch for me. Yeah, everyone was high on him during the draft, but I think he's going to be bothered almost every night by NBA type strength and length that he didn't experience in college. I see him being an above average PF, but that equates to a prime Boozer/Brand. He will put up good stats, but he will never be a PF that can be a top 2 option on a contender. I'm not even sure I'd want a player like that to be a top 3 option.

Well, if you consider your own opinion to be better than those who actually get paid to follow the NBA, I guess that makes one person who does. Bottom line, they have picked up some nice pieces and recovered nicely considering they weren't able to land Aldridge, Jordan or Monroe.

They picked up Hibbert, who if nothing else, is a defensive upgrade over Jordan Hill and not much, if any, drop off offensively. They added the 6th man of the year in Lou Williams and it looks like they will be adding Brandon Bass as well.

None of the above makes them contenders and probably doesn't even get them an 8 seed in the playoffs. But barring a bunch of injuries, they should definitely be better than the past 2 years and more attractive to FA's going forward.

i respect your opinion over the talking heads as well to be honest. They get paid to talk about it, yes, but many times they are talking about teams they don't know about or are talking about topics that don't really need to be talked about, but is the only thing of significance. The latter happens right about now after all the prime FAs are taken.

Call me when the Heat make it back

Make it back to where?
If your talking championships, we're just a couple years removed from a decade that included 3.
So, if that's the case, how about letting us know if you EVER get there.

Now, to me, I can be very satisfied and entertained regardless if we're the last man standing.
It's great fun when it happens ( guess you'll have to take my word on that), but since 29 other teams aspire for the same goal, there's no expectations to think it's coming your way very often.

I'm extremely excited about watching this roster play.
We should see some very motivated, great team ball.
We have all the ingredients. Just have to get them to blend together.

Just watching how James is once again handling his annual opt reconfirms my feelings from this time a year ago.
Good riddance.

Shane's well aware of how much fun it is. He experienced it twice over the 4 years that he recently spent as a Heat fan.

Obviouksy it will take some time to see how all the new pieces blend.
I think your D might be pretty bad for at least awhile.
However, you do have what appear to be some roster upgrades.
So, there's a good chance to say you should be entertaining with the hopes of substantially turning the corner over the next couple of years.

yeah, gonna be interesting to see how all the moves are gonna look once this team hits the court and the games count. still, imo we've definitely took a step in the right direction especially since we did hang onto our young core AND our cap space for the most part...

His comment was just so stupid.
All I did was truthfully point out that the player he was praising wasn't even available to play when it mattered.

Call me blind, but I see in Kyrie a player who just, for whatever reason, can't stay healthy.

I know Heat fans hoped Wade was good to go when it mattered, but sure weren't expecting it the last few years.
I view Kyrie the same way or maybe even more of a question mark because he doesn't have the pedigree to show that he can ever get through it.

Cory Joseph got himself a nice new deal....WOW

I thought the Spurs might still keep him around as the "defensive" backup point guard to go with the "offensive" backup point guard for a few million tops.

But, is that 7.5 million correct??

My god. Toronto did not want to be outdone by Cleveland.

Yeah. All kidding aside, I really hope Kyrie's injuries will prove to be a thing of the past because the kid is a lot of fun to watch when he's healthy. But, considering that he hasn't played a full season since at least his junior year of high school, you're probably right about him not being able to stay healthy.

I never said he "can't", of course we don't know, but everyone paying attention knows he "hasn't".

I'm not sure why Cavs fans now suddenly feel like he will since he's coming off what appeared to be some serious knee issues combined with the strong chance that his seasons will be 100+ games if the team is where they hope it will be.

:agree:yeah, no one is saying Kyrie CAN'T finish a season, but history has STRONGLY suggested the possibilities against it are higher...

Not trying to say it's the same thing (hope it's not), but Bynum literally had no injury issues until the first knee injury. Everyone thought no big deal, he'll be fine. He's young and recovered 100%. Then the next season, he injures the other knee. Then it was, "not the same knee, he'll be fine." Neither injury looked that bad when they happened. Problem was, it turned out his knees were just falling apart on him.

Kyrie has a history of injuries going back to high school. Can't tell if some of these Cavs fans really believe there will be no more injury issues or if they're just whistling past the graveyard.
