I was really surprised that El Paso was #20.
Also that Texas, a Great State, has 6 of the top 20.

San Antonio surprises me, all along I heard it was a small market for the NBA.

It will be over a million for this Memorial Weekend.

Cities are irrelevant. STL City is 66 square miles and is well outside this list (with 318,000), but if it featured St. Louis County (like it used to), it would have 1.32 Million and would be #8. If it had both, there would be 590 square miles. Jacksonville is over 800 square miles.

The only way to do this is metro areas. Municipal boundaries are way too random.

Seattle metro is 3.5m as well. Yours may grow, but so does everyone else's.

Trust me that Seattle is fucking crowded. Anyone who gets stuck driving on the I5, I90, I405, or 167 every day can tell you how bad it is.

Seattle is the 15th largest metro. I'm not sure what the point of this thread is. Most people think Seattle is about that big. Here's the NFL Metro ranks:

1. New York (x2)
3. Chicago
4. Dallas
5. Houston
6. Philly
7. Washington
8. Miami
9. Atlanta
10. Boston
11. San Fran (Note: Oakland is ironically here, while the 49ers are not)
12. Phoenix
14. Detroit
15. Seattle
16. Minneapolis
17. San Diego
18. Tampa
19. St. Louis
20. Baltimore
21. Denver
22. Charlotte
23. Pittsburgh
28. Cincy
29. Kansas City
31. Cleveland
33. Indianapolis
34. San Jose (This is where the 49ers are)
36. Nashville
40. Jacksonville
45. New Orleans
50. Buffalo
157. Green Bay

I have no idea what the purpose of the thread is. I'm sure a lot of people know how big Seattle is and how they consistently rank in the top 10 of worst traffic in the country. GPS tracking sites have them 5th worst.

And none of it has anything to do with football.

I just bring up the traffic because it pisses me off.
I live 23 miles from work and it takes over an hour to get there and up to 2 hours to get home.

I hate that I agree with you. (Seriously. It hurts me.)

City limit population is an awful gauge.

You should move and root for the 9ers.

Call me whatever you want, but I was surprised to see that NY has over double the amount of people that LA has.

Just trying to start some conversation, delete the fuking thread if you want.
lol, don't get all sensitive. Bring up whatever conversation pieces you like. It's the dead season and it's not like there is a lot else to talk about outside of the 50 threads on the Pats and their cheating.

I just answered his question.

It doesn't.
So now we're not even believing the list? 8,175,133 looks like a little more than double 3,792,621 to me.

The surprising ones to me are El Paso and Boston. Also what's with the hyphens in Louisville and Nashville? I've never lived in either one of those places but I've always just heard them called Louisville or Nashville.

Quite correct. You beat me to the post. Charlotte is 500,000 but 5 million in metro. San Jose is the same. I used to take 1.5 hours to go across town to my sister's house. I could do it in half an hour by bicycle. I commuted 80 miles away because it was quicker than driving throng town. You Seattle guys need to quit your bitching about the traffic. Santa Clara traffic is the worst. It is one big parking lot from San Francisco to San Jose. (including through Milpitas, home of the 9ers)
