I can already picture Boatright in that Spurs jersey.

Well, SMU got a sweet draw for the first round, as UCLA was probably the worst and most undeserving at-large team to get a bid. But they got a horrible draw for their Round 2 matchup with Iowa State. They would have to play a nearly perfect game to win that one.

I don't understand how the committee does the seeding. In traditional playoff brackets, the best #1 seed should ultimately be paired up with the worst #2 seed, the best #3 seed should be paired with the worst #6 seed, and so on. But that's not how the NCAA does it at all. As an example: Iowa State was rated by the committee as the top #3 seed in their 1-68 rankings they released. They reward Iowa State with a possible 2nd round matchup against their top #6 seed SMU. How is that fair to either? There are multiple examples of this type of pairing which the committee has set up throughout the bracket (best of a certain seed facing best of another seed early on).

Iowa State won the Big 12 Tourney but Baylor and OU got easier 2nd round opponents. Stupid.

I know Will is pissed right now. That was a pretty stupid finish to the game. How can you not go to the monitor on a call like that? It looks like it may have hit the rim, but you don't let a judgment call affect the outcome like that. That rule needs to be evaluated. Moore at least had at least two good looks after.

That shot was never going in and they got 3 points because of it.

I saw the screenshot of the ball when the SMU player touched it. While it was a bit off it was above the rim and because it was a judgement call I can sort of see why the call stayed as is. On the whole however SMU should have won that game.

Believe the announcers said they couldnt go review it... forget the reasoning though.

Terrible, terrible way for the officials to decide the outcome of a game. That shot had no chance of going in and it's a shame their season was ended on such a controversial call. I think they would have beaten UAB.

With all of that being said, however, if SMU made their damn free throws, that call wouldn't have mattered. They have no one to blame but themselves for that. The better team didn't win, but that's how it goes sometimes (especially in March Madness). Hell, UConn won the whole thing last year and they were far from being the best team in the country. SMU whipped them in both meetings last year.

Now that SMU is done, I'd like to see some small school that nobody is giving a chance make some noise.

Oklahoma survived the first round trap. They've got a second round trap to avoid against Dayton too. Hope we don't get the same refs Dayton had in their last game.

Yep, that was the hardest game for me to pick in my bracket. I went with Wisconsin just because of Kaminsky. So far I'm 4 for 4 with my Elite 8 picks. Tomorrow I have Duke beating Utah (almost went with Utah though), Gonzaga beating SMU (should have been them), Oklahoma beating Michigan St., and Villanova beating Northern Iowa. So I can still get a possible 7 out of 8 correct if Gonzaga, Duke, and OU win.

I have Wisconsin beating Gonzaga in the championship game (refused to pick Kentucky). That's probably where my bracket will fall apart.

My best picks so far have been Georgia State over Baylor, Wichita State over Kansas, and Michigan St. over Virginia. My worst picks were Valparaiso through to the Sweet 16, Villanova through to the Final 4, and Ole Miss over Xavier and then on to the Sweet 16.

Donaldson, how do you feel about the Vols picking up Rick Barnes? He will bring good talent to the school there is no doubt, but will he do anything with it?

Fuck this Duke vs MSU game. Why did Michigan state bother to upset anyone if they are gonna play like shit in the final four? Kentucky vs Duke looks inevitable.

It wasn't the game..... but, it was a huge momentum swing when Wisconsin didn't get called for the shot clock violation there with about 2 mins or so left and then got the basket. Can't review the call unless its under 2 mins? Kind of a dumb rule. If you are gonna review shit then that kind of stuff should clearly be reviewed. In the end the should have made baskets in the last 2 mins

Kentucky players still should have gone out and shaken the Badgers hands. No place for poor sportsmanship in college athletics.

My bracket remains intact! A Wisconsin win in the title game would win me the pool at my work... 27 people filled out brackets and 18 of them picked Kentucky to win it all. 2 people picked Duke, 2 picked Wisconsin (I'm ahead of the other), 1 picked Arizona, 1 picked Gonzaga, 1 picked Kansas, 1 picked Baylor (alumni), and 1 picked Wichita State (alumni).

The refs were awful the last few minutes. And yes the goal should be to get the call right every time. If you can go to the monitor to determine is s guy was hit in the face then you should go to the monitor to see a missed shot clock.
