Concerning the owner, you may be right. But living here in the DC area, I can tell you the fan base has soured on RG3 and are ready for this experiment to be over. Heck, if Dad gave up on him, then everyone has.

I think the beauty of being a real fan, yet outside the teams market, is that one can look at the team without the local bias being attached to it. Unless I go out of my way to listen to the local broadcasts, I dont get the venom that is spewed right after a game. Nor do I get the false hope that is spread after we win the annual off season Lombardi. I know many thought I was too harsh on Griffin, and many think Im way too soft on Haslett. But this clip from a recent article speaks volumes....

Last month, former Redskins linebacker London Fletcher revealed he often ignored Haslett’s instructions and changed play calls. On the sidelines during games, other veterans would question Haslett’s strategy in heated exchanges with their boss. It’s hard to be an effective commander if troops disregard your orders.

Of course this team will draft a QB, but he'll be taken in rounds 4 or 5 and his name is Kevin Hogan, Stanford Cardinal (local kid, McLean Va)........6'4".......228, runs a 4.62 40, plays in a pro style offense. A bit of a project because of inconsistencies, but has shown an ability to improve in his time as Cardinal QB.

I like Garrett Grayson more he has the potential to be an Aaron Rodgers clone

Two guys to keep an eye on IF they declare for this years draft are Connor Cook and Kevin Hogan. Both may return for their senior year.

Hogan is a 5th year student, who for all intents and purposes has met and now exceeded his undergraduate requirements. There are rumors that he is ready to tranfer to UM to finish that 5th year.

point is round 4-5 is the way to go

as for Rg3 my long standing policy is 3 years for a draft pick . i defended Rg3 from attacks when the attacks appeared to lack any real evidence other then unnamed sources and reporter theories .

i gave him a pass for 13 because of injury , but the same crap showed up in 14

right now i dont think he can clean up his game enough to become even a competent qb to lead a team

add to it the controversy surrounding him and i say it is time to cut bait . the drama is killing the team

skinsdad, if you want to move on from RG3 would you take Winston if he is there at #5? Assuming we get a RT in FA.

Not unless you want to take a bad situation and make it worse. Winston is a mistake waiting to happen for this team.

no because then we get criminal drama which is worse because of suspension problems

plus i am not convinced he is a franchise guy either

I didn't know he was convicted of anything. But I agree, there is way too many red flags on that guy to risk a high 1st pick.

I say try to fix everything else as best you can. We are not a quarterback away so might as well build up everything else and see what RG3 gives you. He's under contract and Snyder has made it pretty clear though Allen that he's going to be here next year. Sonny went as far as to say he will be the starter next year, and Sonny is as close to Dan as anyone. So let's fix the lines and the secondary and give the investment one more year. That's what I would do anyway.

That's my thoughts as well. Spending a 3rd-4th on a QB who most likely won't be any good when that pick could be used to find a guard or safety is kind of stupid IMO. I mean really how much can we expect out of that player anyway? Hasn't Andy Daulton taught us anything? Average QBs don't work in this league. And getting a QB as good as Andy Daulton in round 4 is a long shot at best.

Gotta disagree. You can win with "average" QBs, or at least not Tier 1 QBs. Look at the Ravens or even Seattle for that evidence. Dalton was playing with out a couple of key playmakers yesterday, that could have made a difference. Moreover, if you wait for a franchise QB, you may be waiting decades. There are only about 8-10 real franchise QBs in the league. These are guys I consider can carry a team to victory. If you can surround a good QB with talent and devise a good scheme to exploit what he does well and back it up with a stout defense, you can make a run at a title. Doesn't mean you will get there, but you can be in the hunt. I'd take that right now.

I would not put Russel Wilson in the same category as Andy Daulton. Or Flacco for that matter. Those guys show up when it matters the most. Flacco was a 1st round pick and Wilson only slipped to the 3rd due to the height bias. Again will a 3rd round QB be that good? Not very likely. Hell a first round pick probably won't be as good as Flacco or Wilson. You spend a 3rd round pick on a QB and the odds strongly suggest you get a John Beck

While it's true that a great QB is very very hard to get, which is again why I supported the move to trade up for Griffin, that does not mean you spend (waste) a 3rd rounder this year on a body you hope to miraculously turn into a good QB. We aren't winning any time soon, wait until you have a better chance at getting a good QB.

I agree with DGF. The odds of you getting a long term starter decrease the further you go into the draft. That is even more evident with certain positions like QB. Most of the current starters in the NFL are likely from the 1st and 2nd rounds.

I am starting to think build up the rest of the team and QB will take care of itself via free agency or the draft the next couple years.

I say we should take a QB in round 3-4. Take a O-lineman in 1st, take BPA in 2nd, in 3rd take BPA, then take Shane Carden in 4th.

I would like to see us take a OT, DT, S, QB, DE, CB, LB in the draft.

Shane Carden, QB, East Carolina
Height: 6-2. Weight: 221.
Projected 40 Time: 4.74.
Projected Round (2015): 3-5

Your Redskins shouldn't waste a pick on a QB. Washington can have Johnny Party & an 8th round draft pick for Cousins!

I'd rather see all of our picks go to other positions to build the team at this point. Keep at least 2 of RG3 cousins and McCoy and maybe bring in a cheap vet. A late round qb just seems like a waste of a pick.

No thanks on Johnny. But with you guys having 10 picks total, I would not be shocked if Washington gets an opportunity to move him again.

i dont think spending a 4th or 5th rounder on a guy at qb is a bad thing at all .

it is a bad move if you are doing it and making him your franchise qb. if you are looking a BU qb (which we need ) then it should be fine

also foles was a 4th rounder and he does ok in Philly and i submit to you if he was healthy the eagles are a playoff team

and foles isnt the best fit in the style of offense the eagles run either

now this year isnt a great year for qbs either so you need to take that into account as well

If we are really considering spending a 4th to obtain a backup QB we really are screwed. That is a complete waste of a 4th round pick for a contending team, for a rebuilding team that's crazy talk is what that is.

As for Foles he is obviously a product of the system, put him in DC and you have, well, Ryan Fitzptrick. And he is the best example we can come up with, by far the majority of 4th round QBs never make it.
