The'fcc'is'looking in to ban the word redskin on tv and radio man this shit won't go away
Live how ESPN has been beating the drum the loudest on this, then they show a full minute of Chiefs fans doing the war chant and tomahawk chop. Give me a break
the football team has started and this stuff just keeps on going
so much for your "shut up and it will go away " plan eh j-y19 ?
we better get our side out or it will simply get over run
I still stay ignore it. Again, the numbers just aren't there. There is overwhelming support to keep the name as from both the Native american community as the us population at large. They haven't lost one sponsor. The League has decided to do just what I say.....they are ignoring it. Until anyone of these facts change, there is no reason to even give it credence by addressing it.
There is no way the FCC can ban the word. They haven't banned the N word. I hear it said on airwaves all the time. The work spic and chink, etc are used. Its just someone blowing smoke who has no stroke. Don't fret over this. lets get back to important debates.....like why RG3 and Snyder were together at dinner last year. Think they talked about Shanahan?
It is not going away, Your references to the "N" word relates to what's said on cable....public airways, on which the NFL airs most of its' games is what's at question here. I will admit that it's a long shot to end the use of the term, given the broad spectrum of allowable words that there are, but to have the head of the FCC take this position is a fairly big step in getting it done.
i could care less what some un-elected bureaucrat has to say about it .
This is not a question of what you care or don't care about. I was responding to the posters claim that if you ignore it, it will go away. Didn't you also say "so much for your "shut up and it will go away " plan eh j-y19 ?" Is agreeing with you debatable? The poster also included in his reply some false information about the use of the "N" word that needed to be clarified. I purposely worded my response in a manner as to NOT get into the whole "name change" thing again as it is a very sensitive issue with some here.
Jim wheeler is the'head of the'fcc he raised a lot of money for obama in iowa wikiapeda
Its important to know the boss of the fcc point number 2 he is a leftist so I got to asume he is a politcal correctness person if not I'm sure the anti redskins lobbyist are knocking at his door if you don't think this redskin thing is politcal then you or anybody need to stop being intellectually lazy then httr
Is it your position that PC is something that comes from and supported by politically left leaning people? Tell us please and remove all doubt. This name change thing is absolutely not derived from a political position by all who support it. That is something that you tell yourself in order to feel better about the growing number of folks that have come to this conclusion for reasons of their own. It is like my giving you some simple minded reason that people who oppose the name change do so ONLY because they have their emotions tied to it. It takes a closed mind from those who are unable to consider that there other logical and reasoned deductions in reaching conclusions for and against it. It is indeed intellectually lazy to attempt to pigeon hole either side into one reason for doing so.
Let me ask you a question.........If you owned a new expansion team and the ONLY choices that you had in so far as naming that team which of these would you name it? 1. Whiteskins.......2. Blackskins.........or yellowskins. All attempts at humor, diversion or slick non answers will only confirm that you are on board with the P.C. world.
