If Cousins is playing well there is no chance they pull him for RG3 even if he returns earlier than expected. I picked Washington to win the division preseason and I actually think this may help them do so. The reality is that RG3 is talented but he isnt a good fit for the system Gruden wants to run. He could make it work because he is that talented but Cousins is a VERY solid QB and a much better fit. I see Wahington going 10-6/9-7 if Kirk plays the rest of the year and that should win the division unless Philly is WAYYY better than I think they are.

You and I both know Griffin would never settle for that. If he is healthy to play, he expects (dare I say demand) to play.

my question is how is this any different from any other starting qb who gets hurt ? why would i want a qb who would settle for that ?

and why is it a given he would "demand " to play ?

my feeling is if gruden pulls a winning KC from the job he is a fool . it is also my expectation that he will grab his balls and tell the 24 yr old qb he is benched

and i would expect that he would have the full backing of allen and snyder

now does that mean Rg3 wont be upset ? no does that mean he will throw a tantrum in the locker room everyday and be a cancer ? no

my expectation is Rg3 will work hard to become the starter again

but the truth is you have to be available to play and so far Rg3 has serious questions about that , and if i am the HC i would tell him that if we are to live with your growing pains you have to prove you can stay healthy , until then KC is the guy

as for Rg3 whining ETC , tough shit and get over it

but i dont think it will go down like that .

I honestly believe RGIII is gonna do everything in his power to get back, quickly. I like RGIII, but if Kirk Cousins continues to play like he has and we continue to win --very important-- I pray that Kirk Cousins stays in. We gotta go with the hot hand. I know we played the Jags, but Kirk made his reads and threw some very good passes. I must say, we haven't looked this good against anyone, since 2012, bad team or not. Coming into the game, we had a nine-game losing streak.

I actually think RG3 will handle himself like a professional if we are winning with KC and the coach decides to go with KC.

RG3 will understand why and that his future is elsewhere.

Yea well if he pulls that shit and tries to demand the team bench Cousins while the team is actually winning games, all he will be doing is cementing the idea that he is a me first player. In that situation he would be best served to give Alex Smith a call and figure out the best thing to do.

If Rg3 becomes a distraction at that point, all he will gain is a quick ticket to the worst team that gives the best trade offer.

That's why i said it would be the end of his time as a Redskin.

I kind of agree with Dad, I'm seeing a pattern here. If the Redskins are winning and Cousins is playing well of course you stick with him. If Griffin gets upset, well as Dad says do you want your previously starting QB not to be upset in that situation? Last guy who did that was Kerry Collins in Carolina and he was called all sorts of names.

So yeah winning with the QB playing well is an easy call. But what is much more likely to occur is the gray area in between winning and losing, good QB play and bad QB play. What if they are 5-4 and Cousins has been ok but nothing special? Then what ? Or if they are 4-5 and Cousins has been really good? Or 6-3 with average QB play but they have been winning with defense and special teams? I just don't think you can say if they are winning he stays and if they are losing Griffin starts when healthy.

EXCLUSIVE: Jay Gruden's Locker Room Speech

In this video you see RG3 in the background & he looks pretty damn pumped. He seems to me to really care about the Redskins. This appears to fly in the face of the fact that some folks always state that he is a completely selfish player. Give it a rest. As I have stated before the guy does a lot of things to help other people & again I truly believe that he cares about this team.

These will be good problems to have since it will be win-win. Much better than say the Redskins losing a bunch of games & going with the lesser of the evils. For now let's enjoy - hopefully.

RG3 will understand why and that his future is elsewhere.

And he should if it all pans out like that. I have been supportive of RG, but bottom line is he has not been healthy enough to stay on the field, and his play has not given him the benefit of the doubt when he is healthy enough to play again.

This isn't a Brady/Cassell situation. The Pats knew who Brady was when he blew his knee out. If Cousins plays very well and cements himself as a starter in the league, then the Redskins need to move on from Griffin. I think the coaches would make the right decision.

Here is how simple I see it:

I RG3 returns in six weeks:

winning record- stay with KC

losing record- back to RG3

.500- really depends on how KC is doing. He has some very tough games in there to include Seattle and Arizona.

Sounds OK. However - given past history & other factors - just not sure if it is a good idea to reinsert RG3 in six weeks even if he appears totally healthy on the surface. Given the backlash from the previous season Gruden may have the same take (unless Cousins does awful - hope not - or sustains an injury).

BTW - saw a glimpse of First Take today & Skip Bayless was ragging on RG3 for being too positive. WTF. He stated that he should be angrier & smile less. Please. If he acted like that no doubt a lot of the media would accuse him of being selfish, a pouter, etc. In cases like this he (and a lot of other players) just can't win. Damned if you do - damned if you don't.

All I can say there is that Skip Bayless makes Mike Wise look like Walter Cronkite. In other words, Bayless is below a Grade A hack, he's a Tabloid shocking head with virtually no actual knowledge.

LMAO at Skip Bayless, another example of the unnecessary shots RGIII has taken, mostly from his own fans IMO. I'll just never understand the hate for a guy who has done nothing to anyone, unlike so many other players.
