I am thinking this response says the offense did not need to score 35 points to win a game. Simple truths I believe...

I may be wrong? Had the defense ranked dead last in every stat of those 3 games. The point was if my comprehension skills are working remains the same. The offense did not need to score 35 to win said games.

:feedback:

Agree.

Obviously the Lions don't need to score 35 points to score EVERY game. Same as guys like Suh have NEVER hit free agency.

It's just a way to sum up my personal frustrations in general.

The literal microscope you have on my posts clog up otherwise decent threads.

I was wrong about Mayhew taking a CB too, remember?

Bottom line is defense may not have played well, but they played well enough to win. And not just the last 3 games. Offense did not.

Bottom line is the season is 16 games, not 3.

Yearly totals:

3rd in offense.

31st in defense.

Which stats are those rankings being taken from? Pts/game? Yds/game?

Lions also 31st in sacks (23) and as a unit, their CB's were dead last in the league in INT w only 2.

CB play has always been, and continues to be our downfall.

I believe this year will be the breakout year for the entire secondary in a good way, CB's mostly, hopefully Greenwood and Lawson shocks all of us and contribute positively.

reason..... new DC who also has had some success coaching CB's in previous stops (minus that U of M debacle)... I'm going to try stay in a positive frame of mind with the secondary.

That would be awesome. I think we're gonna see flashbacks from the 0-16 season where QB's just come out and bomb it for TD's on 1st down, putting up 2-3 TD's on us right out of the gate. Hope I'm wrong.

Slay being mentored by Rod Woodson this off-season, not getting a lot of reps in last years training camp and pre-season, due to his meniscus surgery, then to be pulled early in his 1st 2 games of the season last year and not seeing much action til late in the season. I hoping/believing he makes that jump this year.

Greenwood and Lawson, I can see maiking significant strides if they can get on the field. Bentley, I'm predicting, will fail and be yanked. Watchout for Greenwood this year !

11-5 and winning the division this year....

If there is no pass rush or it is inconsistent as it has been, the DBs will be average. Good QB's will pick them apart at will. Average QB's will look like good QBs against them.

I think Slay plays well but Mathis doesn't play as well. Bentley/Green/Greenwood must look like competent CB's. I'm intrigued by Lawson but honestly don't expect much from him.

Slay I do though.

And Greenwood. If for no other reason than I want him to make it, eventually.

Why you copy everything I post? I was asking Famine a question to a earlier post. Please stay on topic and not clog up this thread.

Ditto. Saw him in person at practice. Thought he was a junior high player. That's how short he looked.

He probably thought you were in the NBA.
