I will once again challenge you to make a post about your own roles in these things.

You can't come online and make the kinds of posts you do and then blame everyone else for the shit storm that follows it. At least and then not admit your part in it.

If you (and others like you) would just admit you like creating these shit storms it would go a long way toward ending them, or at least keeping them in context.

You have had how many posts in this thread? What percentage of them are on topic? What percentage of any of your posts on any thread that is related to the Seahawks is on topic? Now what is the definition of a troll?

Put some of those pieces together and get back to us.

Frankly...I believe that if all I posted was the word seahawk, it would invoke a shitstorm on your behalf. thats how sensitive and insecure most of you are.
I have a better idea, why dont YOU just frequently post the word "seahawks" and the rest of us can bow down, closed mouthed and everything will be happy again here at seahawks SportsHoopla.

And since it seems to mean so much to you, you're damn right, i am no where near the gentleman that CDumler is. I dont care that your interpretation of that is "troll" whatever that means anyway. I just know constant bullying when I see it, which is how I describe what I see from you and yours.

I think his point was Denver going through the entire NFCW and their physical brand of defense might put Peyton more at risk.

Every team is screwed if they lose their starting QB, but Peyton is getting older which has to add some extra level of danger for his recovering week in and week out to the punishment QB's take.

Wilson takes a lot of shots because of a terrible pass protecting line so he has his chances of having bad injuries as well.

I'm glad both teams will be playing each other in week 3 when they are both more likely to have mostly healthy teams. It won't be a season ending loss for either team, but both will get to find out where they stack up against the better teams in the league.

Can Seattle repeat? Sure, but it's a long season and injuries are so much of the story of every season. I wouldn't put their chances at better than 30% myself.

Broncos added some nice pieces on their defense and get others back from injury. That's going to be one hell of a team in the AFC this coming season. How can you not like their chances if they stay healthy?

I was concerned all last season about Denver's ability to match the physicality of some teams, including Seattle (I first posted my concerns on the Broncos board as early as the preseason games with SF and Seattle).

I really feel like Denver has gotten more physical in the offseason, not only due to FA signings, but also, as you mentioned, getting guys back healthy, and also some young guys having really developed last year. Looking forward to seeing if we've done enough to match the physicality of the NFCW teams on the schedule this year. Definitely a challenge, but I feel pretty optimistic.

This prediction surprises me from you actually... Can't see the Hawks repeating myself, even tho I have much respect for how the Hawks have put together a solid team thru smart drafting and a focus on team play vs individual chest beating. Well, except for Sherman...of course, love to hate on that dude, has great talent but an even louder lack of humility. Not a class act there, at all.

Just as I thought, when challenged to rate yourself up here you fail to do so and keep turning it on everyone else. Some of us can admit our roles in spats up here and others just keep stirring up the pot and pointing fingers.

Keep changing this to be about CD or anyone else you want, but you can't handle the truth.

Your only post on topic was flame bait. Yet you chide anyone that took it and responded back. :L

It's fine if you want to be that way, just own it.

Really the thing that has to stop around here is when it gets to the point of name calling and real hate. I've had my share of posts that went too far and all of us have gotten sucked into degrading ourselves down to that level. That is the line we need to draw in the sand and ALL of us need to stay this side of it.

Now do you have anything to add that isn't about this pissing stuff? Can you say something not anti-seahawk?

I don't think that any fan can ever reasonably expect more than a 30% chance of his team winning it all. Too many things can go wrong. That said, Seattle seems quite obviously to me one of the three or four most likely teams to win it all this year.

I would say it should be significantly less than that myself. Just not happening that easily in a post cap NFL, IMO.

Anyone that underestimates the Broncos just based on that SB is in for a real headache if their team plays them. Best offense in the league and now a revamped defense. I'd be stoked as hell if I was a Broncos fan and for good reason.

Why would it surprise you? I've never been one to count chickens that haven't hatched. Hell, I was on the fence about their chances in the SB and voiced all kinds of concerns about it.

I guess all Seahawk fans look alike to some of you, but I get flack even from other Hawks fans for not drinking the kool-aide like the rest of them.

I've never said anything other than injuries are the bigger story every year than who has the most talent going into a season.

ok, so maybe 20%? :noidea: The point really was I didn't think we had over 50%.

Seattle on paper is one of the 4 or 5 best teams in the league right now so they should have a 20-25% chance.

All true. The thing about forums like this though is you might have only seen a couple of Seahawk fans say the year they had Mora as the coach, but the fans posting more now aren't "bandwagon" fans. They just have more to talk about now than then. The bandwagon fans probably don't go online to chat to begin with. They buy the merchandise and repeat what they hear at the water cooler at work and that's about it.

Let's say the Browns win it all next year with johnny football at the helm. How many more browns fans would be swarming this site? And most of them wouldn't be 'bandwagon' fans, just the long time fans that didn't have anything to talk about before their success now finding a reason to hang out on forums.

My bad I missed and bandwagon fans. Should have said that when a team ( esp 1st time) wins the big game then all their fans come out and also bandwagon ones. I can tell the real ones by the way they post. The ones like me who have been with it through thick and thin, mostly thin. I agonized for 30 years with a few of the worst owners possible and some really really bad teams. I respected the Steelers of 70, 49's of 80 and Dallas of 90's for putting up competitive teams. And it was a little easier then, before the free agency days, where guys would stay on the same team for years. Now dead presidents and an inventor rule that. Seattle with Allen as owner and Carroll as HC have a recipe for success with the fine team they have assembled. Envious fans want to make excuses and throw roids, cheating, refs etc is the reason that team won the SB and pull out the asterisk crap.

It's kind of difficult to me to assign probabilities to how likely future events will occur. Here are some Vegas odds: http://www.vegasinsider.com/nfl/odds/futures/

Since $1 bet on Seattle pays $6.5 if Seattle wins it all, I guess it might be reasonable to interpret that to mean that the probability of Seattle winning it all is 1/6.5 or about a 15% chance.

Seems pretty legit. Vegas knows it's odds. Would certainly lean towards Vegas odds over football talking heads that's for sure.

Sonny you always seem more than reasonable. I was kind of half answering you and half the rest who claim many Seahawk fans up here are indeed of the bandwagon variety.

Those bandwagon fans do exist and they are everywhere in this region. You can tell who they are. The ones that can list off 4 to 5 names of players on the team and would look at you funny if you bring up bobby wagner or cliff avril. I just don't think you see any of them posting on sites like this. They would be way too intimidated because it would be easy to expose them. Some might read these boards so they can feel smarter when talking at the water cooler, but posting? Hell no lol.

It will always be true that the real fans might not post much when their team struggles and come back when they do well, but they are still true fans.

The thing about Seahawks fans though, there have always been quite a few online. I remember the Seahawks board 4-5 years ago on CBS and it was always lively. Only a couple of them made it over here after they shut their doors and that's probably a good thing. Ask the ones that remain how impossible it was to talk to them. There were a few that make all of the ones on this site look like choir boys. We do have a passionate fan base and always have.

Vegas just moved Seattle ahead of Denver for favorites

1 Seattle +520
2) Denver+570
3) SFran +625
4) NE +800
5) GB +1200
6) NO +1600

So your chances are better than any other team, just tough repeating

15%, 20. All the same to me. Won't argue against that. The point I was really making is don't include me in the group of Seahawk fans that are already planning the parade for next February. I really didn't sit and think up some figure, just picked something less than 50%.

And since some other team can sneak in I'll agree at most it should be 15%. No one can predict which team will have the most impact from injuries or who will get hot at the right time. Any of those 6 teams are probably capable. I always leave off NO just because they seem to fade away in big games at times, but Brees is legit and they are always capable of getting on a roll.

Unless one bets, the ex ante estimate doesn't really matter. Ex post, of course, the probability is either zero or one. :suds:

The top 3 of the teams in sonny's list all have to play through the NFCW and their defenses this year. If one of them makes it out with HFA they will be hard to beat, but they all could end up battered and bruised as well and not find a path to HFA.

As a fan I'm just looking forward to what will be a great slate of games this year for the birds. GB at home to open? Broncos at the clink in a regular season game? Cowboys and Giants at home? Man, this is going to be a great season for good match ups and that's what I really care about at this point.

The only game that concerns me is the skins on the road and it isn't anything about their team. We lost two key players from that simply terrible field in our playoff game there in '13. That was the worst field conditions I have seen ever. So I worry about the leg/knee injuries playing there.
