If you dont care for the truth, I suggest that you take it up with Pete "It's a contract for a reason" CarrollNot exactly, but why would it surprise us to see you say that.
In before the usual suspects +1 your post.
Everyone got what they wanted out of the deal. The Seahawks didn't rewrite his contract so there is no new money and Lynch still got more of his bonus money as guaranteed.
Sorry if you don't care of the truth.
So much jealousy and anger from you for all things Seahawk. Don't worry, your team has two more chances to redeem itself starting with next Friday.
Meh...the hawks are one of the few teams that consider a pre-season game a true competition. Me, I dont expect much from it. But for the record, I have no fear seeing the Bronco's face the Weehawks again. I especially look forward to the day when the hawks play without the advantage of steroids/aderall. I think Pete himself is on a little something don't ya think ? I mean besides prune juice.Everyone got what they wanted out of the deal. Actually they did rewrite part of the contract and moved money around. So there is no new money but it essentially is a somewhat new contract that gives him a more guaranteed contract. That is what I said they should do a week ago. Does't add any money but helps protect him a bit more in case he is cut next season. It does mean more dead money for next season if they do decide to go that route now.

If you believed that the way it has been is the way it will always be, you wouldn't still be a seahawk fan.Yeah you didn't fear the Seahawks last year either and we both know how that turned out.
The fact is they didn't tear up that contract and rewrite it. They gave him 'concessions'. I said nothing that wasn't true.
Why do so many bronco fans just want to find any little thing they can to dump on the Seahawks? Did that SB really hurt that bad? I mean we see how kwit is handling it. Now it's the only reason they lost is adderall.
As for dead money next year, not from what was reported. They converted $500k of his next year's salary to a signing bonus this year and the rest of the concessions were converting bonuses to guaranteed money off this season. I've read nothing about any more of his next years money being setup as guaranteed.
They'll probably guarantee his $2M bonus next year and then waive the penalties for holding out this year. Not much of a hit for the Hawks and Marshawn gets another $2M guaranteed even if he's cut. Kinda win-win.
You make a good point, but I think the Seahawks are good to go for another good season this year.If you believed that the way it has been is the way it will always be, you wouldn't still be a seahawk fan.
First off what I care about is wrong reporting. They did change up the contract. Yes they didn't just tear it up but they did change the language. Also signing bonus money is spread out over the contract. you can't just pick and choose which years it hits on. So some of that signing bonus money now affects next season. The reason people keep talking about the Seahawks is because Seahawk fans dominate the NFL part of this website so every time something is even mentioned about them 5-6 Seahawk fans respond to every one post by another poster on the subject.
LOL.............Is there anything you like more than arguing ?Right, so Seahawk fans dominate this part of the site... and we are in a thread about a Seahawk.
I did NOT report anything incorrectly. The Seahawks did NOT rewrite his contract. They changed the language. You may not like that subtle distinction, but that is the legal definition.
This signing bonus was a change of money from next year to this year and likely isn't spread out. I think it counts fully against the cap this year, but in any respect it's $500k. It isn't going to impact their decision in the off season to keep him or dump him. It just doesn't. Again, just making sure the reporting here is accurate.
