Smolinski was originally drafted by Nationals but they traded him to Marlins. We signed him last December. Strange thing the guy hits about 265 everywhere he has been and only had about 30 ABs at RR.

It was just a few months ago we were so hopeful Michael Choice was our answer in RF for 2015 too.

But Smolinski looks to be a gamer day-in-out and this is what the season of 2014 is all about. Who steps up, who steps out?

I knew he was originally a National. But had forgotten he was with the Marlins. Good pickup.

And maybe he'll hit .265, be clutch when it counts, play defense like there's no tomorrow and make us all start calling him "Rusty" Smolinski soon. Just rolls off the tongue doesn't it?
