Ehhh... If/When Soto gets back - Gimenez can play 1B.

I guess I'd rather see what some of the kids can do with an opportunity, rather than a C play 1st. Gimenez isn't really hitting much anymore anyways. We are going to lose anyways. I see why people say otherwise, but some kids thrive when given a chance.


Going into the game tonight Soto didn't even have a hit yet, so he'll fit right in.

The Yankees have lost practically their entire starting rotation now as well as Beltran - let's see if they collapse like the Rangers...here's my bet that they don't...

I bet they don't either. They were hit hard last year as they lost a lot of position players. Their pitching kept them in it. But they will find a way to be competitive.

Agree. Pitching will allow you to stay afloat. It really is what allowed us to finish 20 games over last year. We have scored some runs lately but the pitching cannot hold anyone down.

We're four or five runs down right out of the shoot...yes, our offense is a problem, but we have spent big on our position players (Fielder, Choo, Beltre, Andrus, Rios) so in my opinion, we've made our bed here, we better figure out how to make it work. Also Need the younger players to step up and fill the holes. But our pitching (both SP and BP) is a disaster. We are totally non-competitive due to our pitching. We must give this priority now and in the off season. You cannot win in MLB without a decent pitching staff...

... And remember this, the A's rebuilt their team based on young pitching to start. The Giants won two WS due to pitching...

Roman Mendez has been a bright spot so far. It's not often a BP arm comes in and has a clean inning. Trade Cotts and/or Frasor, call up Klein, and see if he can get ML hitters out like he has in the minors.


Knowing our organization they will try to put Mendez in the rotation next year.

Told you all the other day about the awesome OF we have going on at MB. Well, Ryan Cordell at Hickory is roadblocked until someone on MB gets moved up and he keeps raising his average and it is up into the 340's.
