I've heard a lot of talk that these divisions we'll tear each other up. I'm not to sure that is the case, but I'd like to hear what others think. I guess it will be 16 games. Give me the record between these two divisions and the reasons why.

Denver 3-1, San Diego 2-2, KC 0-4, Oak 0-4

5-11 for the AFC West, imo

Sea 4-0 SF 3-1 Ari 2-2 StL 2-2

Den 3-1 SD 2-2 KC 0-4 Oak 0-4

I don't have a ton of faith in KC. I think they were overrated last year from an easy schedule. I think they'll at least make the StL and Ari games competitive though. Oakland will simply get steamrolled.

I think SF loses a close battle to Denver but takes care of business against the rest, although SD will cause them fits. Ari and StL, while capable of beating all four teams, are also capable of losing games they shouldn't and will end up splitting the 4 games, although which games they win/lose will probably surprise us

I agree with all that has been said other than I do think the Chiefs will take one of the home games. Seattle fans should understand how much such a loud stadium can be a great homefield advantage. You have to remember last year there was a point you guys were not the loudest stadium in the country. That honor belonged to KC for a reason. Those fans are nuts. My best friend's family has season tickets every year and they think it is funny to take me along. I don't care cause I'm getting to go to an NFL game for free but man that place is shaking. Throw in them coming off a great season with high hopes and those fans should be even crazier this year. So again I think they win on of the home games.

So NFC wins the total games 10-6.

Yeah, but that means they'll have to beat the Rams or Seahawks. I guess they'd have home field over the Rams but I mean its a 3.5 hour drive between STL and KC. KC fans will show up at Tennessee games and they certainly show up to STL games so Im not sure how big of a deal it is outside of crowd noise. A big part of the legendary Arrowhead Homefield advantage came at the end of every year when they stopped taking care of their stadium.

KC will have to go through Tennessee, @Denver, @Miami, New England, @SF, Bye, @SD before the Rams game. Not a terribly easy slate. KC can certainly beat STL and they'll probably be favored at home but I dont think they match up at all.

KC beating Seattle? Only if they find the 2nd coming of Derrick Thomas. It wouldn't be unheard of but I wouldnt bet on it

There have been times where Kansas City sucked and Denver was considered one of the best teams in the league yet Arrowhead was one of the few places that could really rattle the team. Now given that is a divisional game but my guess is since it is battle of the Missouri teams and battle to show Seattle that they deserve to be the loudest crowd that the fans will show up for those two games.

I agree that St. Louis especially lines up well with a great front seven to shut down Charles and any kind of passing game against what I would consider the biggest weakness in being their OL.

Again it is just more the home field thing for them. Heck in their season where they went 2-14 just a couple of years ago almost all of their home games they were within a touchdown of winning. Now I could definitely see them losing both games but it also wouldn't surprise me to see them win those home games. Again been to the stadium probably 15 times in my life and even when they sucked those fans showed up and would cheer with everything they have. Never met such loyal fans as that of Chief fans.

They pretty much pull all of Big 8 country. Its pretty impressive for a team that never really invests in a QB.

My gf and about half of my friends are Chiefs fans. My gf told me that the Broncos were the Chiefs biggest rival and I laughed. I asked if she'd ever been to a Raiders game and she said no. My friends hate the Raiders.

Problem is a lot of newer fans to the game or even some of the old ones forget how much the Raiders were hated by the rest of the division. I don't like the Chiefs or Chargers but I hate the Raiders. Every time we beat them it just feels so much better than any other team in the league. Even when the suck like they have for 10 years. Now I will say because they have been irrelevant for so long it has hurt some of the rivalry, but they are still #1 on most fans hate list of the AFC West. I remember being at a Chiefs game in Arrowhead and I was wearing my John Elway jersey and I started having a bunch of drunk Chiefs fans follow me cussing me out and next thing I know a guy in Raider Silver and Black walked by and they all immediately turned around and cussed him out even harder. Only time I have been happy to see a Raider fan.

AZ plays Den & Oak on the road. I see them losing the Den game on the road & beating the 3 other teams. The rest is self explanatory.

Just my guess. I could see KC 2-2 (St. Louis and Arizona) but I won't predict it. I think the Seattle game will be closer than expected (but Seattle winning) because: their offense doesn't challenge the Sherman secondary group (though Seattle is great at short to intermediate, too), their crowd can be a factor, Seattle isn't as bad as some say but is worse on the road, their special teams is pretty good even without McCluster, and JC can always break one.

I see the SF game being close for two quarters, comfortable lead, a little comeback, but a SF score at the end to restore the comfortable lead. Some people might say that the Niners know Alex Smith's game and thus would be able to exploit it, but I think everyone knows it and depending on the personnel can or can't win. SF is definitely good enough to do so.

San Diego will beat the Rams and one of the other three. Their not the best team but are capable.

Just to be clear, I do think that the Rams are getting better. I don't think that the Raiders will beat them. And I feel they may beat Kansas City and/or San Diego.

KC plays in AZ & the Cardinals are very good at home outside of the division(5-0). I don't see AZ losing to KC or SD at home & to Oak on the road.

A lot is made of these kinds of schedules every year. I love how much people talk about how much more difficult the Seahawks schedule will be because they won the SB when that has no impact on it at all. Every division winner has one game against the division winners of the two divisions in their conference they do not play every team in. That is, they play every team in one division and the same ranked team from the other two. So out of 16 games winning your division makes two of them tougher than the other teams in your division.

Not sure what will happen in the AFC/NFC west matchups, but at least it's even for all of them. Well besides the disparity of which are at home vs away.

I do think the defenses of the NFCW should help them come out with a better record, but there will be surprises no doubt.

Yep. Plus, technically the Seahawks don't have to play Seattle twice, so their schedules is on paper easier there than say, Arizona or St. Louis, who have to play Seattle.

Well if you look at it that way the two games against the other division winners more or less evens that out. The rams play two bottom dwellers in theirs, but play us twice and we play two division winners, but still get the rams twice. Not that the rams are the same as say the viks or the buccs.

Point is many make a lot out of the increased difficulty of schedule for division winners and yet the impact is negligible at beast.

Yep.

It's:

Seattle, @Seattle, Niners, @Niners, Cardinals, @ Cardinals

Vs.

Niners, @Niners, Cardinals, @ Cardinals, Rams, @Rams

In some years, the difference of Rams and Seattle may be bigger than the other division winners and dwellers. Vice versa, too.

Negligible, like you said.

Denver 2-2 lose to SEA and AZ

KC 1-3 beat STL

SD 1-3 beat AZ

OAK 0-4

We beat the 9er's and Cardinals. We are going to be much improved with better QB play and stout defense. 0-4 is a travesty. Pound McFadden and jd with schaub ball control and we're 8-8.

NFCW wins 9
AFCW wins 7
