I have no clue. Maybe if they give Gasol the MLE?
Gasol won't take the MLE though. They are working on a S&T. I don't see another 20 million available for Melo.

C'mon guys. It isn't like these are franchise altering contracts that will hinder the Heat for years. Fact is, you got McRoberts at a really good bargain.
Now, had Riles signed Bosh to the max deal as a way to entice LeBron, I could see why you would be upset. The Heat look like they are in 4 seed purgatory for the foreseeable future. Had they gone full rebuild, they could have reloaded in 2016. That will be much more difficult now with Bosh on the books for 20+. That decision was made after LeBron left.
Here is the reality of the situation. This had nothing to do with going home. He ran from a team that he made 4 finals with because he saw a better situation in Cleveland for the future. He wants to make it seem like it was about coming home but it wasn't
Those saying a sign and trade for gasol. He makes 15 mil a year. Lakers don't have that room to take on.
Granger was on the Clippers and McRoberts was on the Bobcats. They weren't in the Central division.
What BK brought up is what irks me the most. Lebron knew full well he was leaving. Hell, Lebron just announced he was going back a little over 12 hours ago. Nike's already got bill boards hanging all over town in Cleveland. This wasn't something that happened in the last couple of days. Lebron's crew even sent SI a letter to release at a certain point. This was planned for weeks, not days.
Lebron met with Gilbert on Sunday and had Riley fly all the way to Vegas to meet him a few days later. During that time, Lebron could've started making moves on other free agents. Lebron approached this decision in a classier way than 2010. But it certainly screwed over my team.
Bulls with Gasol and possibly now going after Ariza could make them a clear favorite in their division. If the Pacers retain Stephenson, then Cavs could be 3rd in their division next year. Of course, the Heat will likely be 3rd in theres as well but let that marinate for both Heat and Cavs fans. The Bulls could be building a juggernaut. The Bulls could be very very scary with a healthy Rose
Melo is all about the Benjamins....East will be very interesting next year.
Lebron is ego centric...never thought about the Heat and the damage he would cause or heck maybe he did and decided to make a competitor weaker. The truth of the matter is that Lebron takes his talents to Cleveland but the Larry O'Brien's stay in South Beach (Biscayne Boulevard for true Heat fans). It's possible that it was a little of both. I think that Lebron has wanted to return to the Cavs ever since he left. Can't blame him for that. Who wouldn't want to play for their hometown team? Isn't that what we all dreamed as kids pretending we were pro players?
However, he wasn't going back as long as Cleveland continued to operate like they did when he was there before. Cleveland's FO is showing signs that they possibly have grasped something resembling a clue which would make a return even more enticing.
My biggest issue with how he has handled this is with the amount of time he took. That potentially screwed the Heat because they missed out on players who could have possibly helped them absorb the loss of Lebron a little easier. For example, they could have immediately inserted themselves into the 'Melo sweepstakes.
Gasol to the Bulls? So, Melo is staying in NY then.
Gasol was their backup plan in Chicago.
Yep, the East will be very interesting next year, for a change!!!Melo is all about the Benjamins....East will be very interesting next year.
