Still not sold on Chicago being some contending team. A big question mark if rose is healthy. I think more or less gasol is leaving LA because of trade rumors every season. Funny these teams wanted him now. In the last 3 seasons nobody would give up anything but 2nd round pick. Who's the back up PG in Chicago anyway? Last I heard both hinrich and Augustin haven't been resigned yet

C'mon guys. It isn't like these are franchise altering contracts that will hinder the Heat for years. Fact is, you got McRoberts at a really good bargain.

Now, had Riles signed Bosh to the max deal as a way to entice LeBron, I could see why you would be upset. The Heat look like they are in 4 seed purgatory for the foreseeable future. Had they gone full rebuild, they could have reloaded in 2016. That will be much more difficult now with Bosh on the books for 20+. That decision was made after LeBron left.

I see what you're saying. But it's hard to recruit for the 2016 free agent class with a blank slate and tons of cap space. We're seeing this with the Lakers where they had a ton of cap space, but missed out on the top tier free agents. Players will need a reason to go to a team, that includes direction. Depending on how Miami uses Bosh, I'm OK with the contract; Not thrilled, but OK with it.

Here's hoping that we can move Bosh back to the 4 and away from the perimeter.

Those saying a sign and trade for gasol. He makes 15 mil a year. Lakers don't have that room to take on.

Here is the reality of the situation. This had nothing to do with going home. He ran from a team that he made 4 finals with because he saw a better situation in Cleveland for the future. He wants to make it seem like it was about coming home but it wasn't

It's possible that it was a little of both. I think that Lebron has wanted to return to the Cavs ever since he left. Can't blame him for that. Who wouldn't want to play for their hometown team? Isn't that what we all dreamed as kids pretending we were pro players?

However, he wasn't going back as long as Cleveland continued to operate like they did when he was there before. Cleveland's FO is showing signs that they possibly have grasped something resembling a clue which would make a return even more enticing.

My biggest issue with how he has handled this is with the amount of time he took. That potentially screwed the Heat because they missed out on players who could have possibly helped them absorb the loss of Lebron a little easier. For example, they could have immediately inserted themselves into the 'Melo sweepstakes.

The Bulls could be very very scary with a healthy Rose

Granger was on the Clippers and McRoberts was on the Bobcats. They weren't in the Central division.

What BK brought up is what irks me the most. Lebron knew full well he was leaving. Hell, Lebron just announced he was going back a little over 12 hours ago. Nike's already got bill boards hanging all over town in Cleveland. This wasn't something that happened in the last couple of days. Lebron's crew even sent SI a letter to release at a certain point. This was planned for weeks, not days.

Lebron met with Gilbert on Sunday and had Riley fly all the way to Vegas to meet him a few days later. During that time, Lebron could've started making moves on other free agents. Lebron approached this decision in a classier way than 2010. But it certainly screwed over my team.

well I thought both were on the Pacers… shows that I need to start paying more attention!

but regarding the billboards, Nike was already starting to put them up a week ago. but what's weird is nobody knew anything media wise except that Nike was starting to place the billboards. surely someone in the media would've had a leak and gotten hold of it if LeBron's crew indeed sent it to Nike that he was returning home. and I heard that LeBron and Jenkins had created that letter on Thursday, but they waited until Friday to release it.

the tough part is really everything is speculation. nobody knows who knew anything or if anybody knew anything at all. but we can certainly believe that he told Riley something about it. but there was just something that people knew in their head he was going to go back to Cleveland. A) it's the biggest story, b) they just got the top pick in the draft and c) they resigned Irving to a big contract.

Well if the Cavs pick up Love then they have to get Nate Robinson and get the Uncle Drew crew together. Maybe Uncle Drew is trying to rebuild the Cavs.

Bulls with Gasol and possibly now going after Ariza could make them a clear favorite in their division. If the Pacers retain Stephenson, then Cavs could be 3rd in their division next year. Of course, the Heat will likely be 3rd in theres as well but let that marinate for both Heat and Cavs fans. The Bulls could be building a juggernaut.

Lebron is ego centric...never thought about the Heat and the damage he would cause or heck maybe he did and decided to make a competitor weaker. The truth of the matter is that Lebron takes his talents to Cleveland but the Larry O'Brien's stay in South Beach (Biscayne Boulevard for true Heat fans).

Gasol to the Bulls? So, Melo is staying in NY then.

Gasol was their backup plan in Chicago.

Yup but Im ok with it. Don't get me wrong I wanted Melo but Gasol is that 2nd scorer for us.

If Gasol was like 30-31 I would feel a lot better about this move but with Gasol being 34 he only has 2-3 years left to help us win.
