The Jeremy Lin trade had nothing to do with Jeremy Lin.

He is nothing more than a contract that comes off the books next off season. The Lakers were given a first round pick just to take him. Lin is not in LA to help them win games.

Rebuilding is never easy.

Lin, Kobe, Young, Randle & Hill? 27-30 wins. At least, we keep the 1st rounder we traded for Nash.

Lakers would be better off signing one year deals and waiting until next year. 100% chance that they land at least one elite FA next offseason.

It's looking to me like they are targeting 2016. The 2015 FA class is starting to less exciting than it did previously.

I agree though, I think the Lakers land a max FA either next year and/or 2016. Maybe even just wait and get 2 in 2016.

That pick is only top 5 protected. That team is still better than 8 teams in the east & Utah.

Bosh is making 24 MILLION A YEAR. Let that sink in.
Do I have to let that sink in? IMO Bosh isn't worth it. I think Pau Gasol is a better player and maybe the Heat should have went after him.

Maybe there is an argument if you were going to play 1 game today, but as far as investing in a player for the long term it isn't close because of Gasol's age and recent injury history.

Gasol would be an awesome get for the Spurs or any other contender, but he can't be counted on as a franchise building block at this stage.

There is no way with Kobe playing that LA won't have more wins than Utah, Milwaukee, Philly, Boston, Orlando, & Detroit.

I think you are probably right, but in the West they will likely lose a lot, and you never know. They might hit that magic ping pong ball. Stranger things have happened.

Also, you could make a case for any of Boston or Detroit to win more simply by virtue of the schedule.
