Laker fans.....this is not a troll question or statement.

I"m looking at all this activity.....I see nobody wants to play for my Mavs. What I want to know is have you guys figured out that nobody wants to play with Kobe? We're in the same boat.

What I can't figure out is WHY. Dallas has a great market, great city, great owner, great facilities, and a recent title.....LA has legacy, great city, ownership that's willing to pay, and is basketball ROYALTY. Yet nobody is willing to sign with either team.

On the Mavs, I have no clue. I have never understood why the Mavs can't seem to land a top FA. Dallas is great city and while it may not have quite the nightlife of places like L.A., NY or Miami, it has plenty to offer in that regard. Plus, I'm not sure there's a more player friendly owner than Cuban. Dirk has also indicated that he'd take a backseat to another top FA. I truly have no clue on that.

As for the Lakers, I don't think playing with Kobe has much, if anything, to do with it. Dwight is Dwight and he pulled even worse crap in Orlando than he did in L.A. Word is that his leaving had nothing to do with Kobe and was about the Lakers sticking with D'Antoni. Also, Dwight just never seemed comfortable with how bright the spotlight is in L.A., so that may have weighed into his decision as well.

Lebron wasn't coming to L.A., his agent listened, but it was always going to be Miami or Cleveland.

The Lakers weren't even on the radar for 'Melo when FA began and managed to move to the point that for a few days, they were the top threat to the Knicks. Much of that was because of Kobe, not in spite of him.

So in each case, it was more about opportunities to win now and/or make more money (remember, the Lakers could offer him the most of anyone and it was still $30 million less than the Knicks) than anything to do with Kobe.

I've fought this battle too many times.

I'm not trying to change your opinion.

I will ask again though.....name ANY player in the prime of their career, with Boshs credentials who is not a max player.

I've said before and I say again, I would have zero problem if the Lakers had offered a max or near max deal to Bosh. He's absolutely a max player. I think some folks just don't understand how much he sacrificed to make the big 3 work.

Fair enough, but at some point SOMEBODY has to sign with these teams. Dallas never outright sucks and has great coaching.......I don't think ANY other coach got more out of his roster than Carlisle got out of the Mavs this year.

The Lakers are wide open......if you want to help rebuild a legendary franchise, this is the time to sign.

Miami missed him when he was hurt against Boston in the playoffs.

Pau was a class act until the end though, he could have just said 'screw the Lakers' at the beginning of the offseason but he waited.

Will always respect Pau for what he contributed to the Lakers.

:agree: Like I said, there is no logical reason that I can think of on the Mavs. Great organization, city and owner. It would be interesting to hear a players perspective.

On the Lakers I think they are starting to look at 2016 and beyond. The 2015 FA class is starting to not look as promising as it once did.

Me too. I hope he goes to the Spurs and gets himself another ring. He's been my favorite Laker since the day he arrived.

I've often called him the most under-appreciated star of all-time. He took all the ridicule, and never complained about it

why does your avy have Embiid? Seems silly.

Do you not even realize who the Cavs have on their roster?

You're right. They trade Wiggins for Embiid!

I just assumed it was Wiggins, thanks for pointing it out. :laugh3:

I'm disappointed lakers didn't move on thomas. I think the lebron delay had an effect on this. Easily thomas is a better player than Lin

The Jeremy Lin trade had nothing to do with Jeremy Lin.

He is nothing more than a contract that comes off the books next off season. The Lakers were given a first round pick just to take him. Lin is not in LA to help them win games.
