Ladanian vs Marshall in their prime, who would you rather have?

Marshall for me. Really can't go wrong with either in their prime. I do think Tomlinson was the better runner of the football but Marshall added that extra dimension with his receiving skills. Now neither were slouches as runners or catchers really so again can't go wrong with either but I guess going with the HOF guy for now.

To be honest, Faulk was/is one of my favorite football players of all time. He was just so smooth and made it look effortless.

Tough, tough choice, but I'm going with LT...imo he was more of a workhorse whereas Faulk was a great piece of the greatest show on turf.

I actually have to go with Tomlinson. The guy was a machine (not that Faulk wasn't). He was just so automatic for so long. Can't discount the TD records either.

Wow...Faulk ran away with it...more splash plays for certain, but I stand by my choice...LT was a workhorse and that tips the scales imo.

Faulk. But in some offenses, I'd take Faulk over any other RB in the history of the league.

Tomlinson was great, no doubt. But he was "Marshall Faulk Lite".

Faulk is the greatest dual-threat RB in NFL history.

Cam Cameron turns good RBs into great RBs and great RBs into HOF RBs. It's his offense. QBs will always look mediocre statistically in it, but RBs will thrive. LT benefited from this (much like Rice did during Cam's years in Bmore).

I suppose if you're taking things like this into account you could argue that playing in a dome helped Faulk as the elements didn't play a factor and playing in a Mike Martz offense didn't allow defenses to cheat and play the run all the time.

Thats pretty much the way I view it, too. If you have that type of offense, Faulk is the perfect guy for it.

The real problem with Tomlinson is that he usually wore down by the time the playoffs came around. Martyball often ran him into the ground.

LT. He was a more powerful runner, more of a workhorse back, and a much much better passer!

Obviously you can't go wrong with either player...At the end of the day I think it starts to boil down to how the team performed when it counted the most...the playoffs...I think the Rams were more complete on OFC making it difficult to defend Faulk, whereas the OFC began and ended with LT in SD.
