I still don't know why the Saints cut Sproles. He is one of the most dynamic playmakers in the game. Some team is gonna get a good price for him and well worth it.

I love spelled. I can't imagine having both McCoy and Sproles sharing the backfield. That is pretty scary.

Sproles isn't the playmaker he was in 2011. He's definitely lost some steam. Btw, he hasn't been cut yet, saints are still tryin to trade him.

We had like $35 million in cap before FA started. Essentially Elway only does one big signing a year then a bunch of 1-2 year deals for the rest so the cap doesn't get crazy on them

Craziness but don't forget they dropped some expensive players too maybe more cuts coming....either way that's some good moves.

With Martin going to the 49ers, I am personally hoping the Seahawks get Incognito.

That would be funny.

Looks like the Broncos may carry the " dream team" label this season.. Very risky deals for Elway. He will either look like a genius or he is going cripple the Broncos cap for the next few years w these contracts. Bottom line, the window of opportunity is now for them to win it all.

They haven't really done much to cripple the team at this point though. Talib's contract when you actually break it down has quite a few safety measures if things happen and the last 3 years of the contract he carries almost no dead money. So he is essentially signed for a 3 year/$26 million contract at this point. Yes most of it is guaranteed during that stretch but in 3 years if he is injured or not panning out he is cut. Plus the Broncos because of the contracts that they sign with most veterans being 1-2 year deals this means every couple of years at least they have quite a bit of cap space become free to help in signing their own players when they need to. Just as an example in 2015 with Manning still playing and all of these contracts they just signed figured in they should have roughly $70 million in cap space at this time. Now yes they will sign other contracts by then so it won't be quite that high by then but it just goes to show these crazy signings they have made have not crippled them one bit at this point.

Not many know this but the Broncos hired one of the NFL's top Cap experts to become the Cap expert on their team. He was the guy that looked at pretty much every contract that came to the NFL office and looked at all the little details to see what the actual Cap hit was for every player in the NFL. So he knows more than most of how to work the Cap for his team and what the best teams in the league do to keep on top.
