if we release polobus, chester, and Bowen that would be another 7 million to take us to 29 million under.

Were not done. Those 3 you mention cringe every time their phone rings right now. They know they are next.

Montgomery could be. That's the only other one that I could see. All of the younger guys are dirt cheap. Not the type you cut to save cap space.

I think Monty gets 3mil per season for the next 3 years. Chop him. Litch can move to center and Ribeye could go to LG. Draft a RG and put Compton at RT. I think at #34 overall we will get the best G in the draft. Whether its Fulio or Yankey. I forgot about Gettis. Wow ribeye, gettis and Compton could all be starting this year. Yikes.

So many with a hard on for Polumbus. We may get rid of him; however, he wasn't nearly as bad as you guys make him out to be. Our interior line was a much bigger problem.

One of the funnier things was assuming Compton was going to be the starter and cutting Polumbus to make that happen. Compton wasn't good enough last season to beat out Polumbus...what makes anybody think he will be this season?

Actually those moves would take us to $26 million. So for the Extra six million we are then gonig to replace two starting O-lineman and a DE since our grand total of DE's is now a whopping four of them under contract. The pool of money is only so deep.

At some point, especially if we are to bring in Talib as you are hoping, we become one of those teams.... a bunch of play makers but zero depth.

I will go on record as saying "keep" Polumbus right now. If anything, he becomes a back up swing tackle. I fully think we go after 1 if not 2 starting caliber offensive lineman in FA. Likely we draft another as well. I believe our FA WR (Britt, LaFell etc) come pretty cheap and we draft a WR. If Ribeye comes in to camp as a monster, he could take over at LG with Lich moving to center.

Monty is too small and he and Chester must go along with Bowen.

This. We need a viable replacement first and I don't think polumbus' contract is that bad.

This was my thought as well. Makes you think they've got at least one big fa in mind. (Byrd?)

Well, Rambo is not ready, Thomas coming off injury and Meriweather likely gone so.....One would have to guess a safety or ILB or combination of the two. Mitchell from Carolina & Smith from the Ravens?

Cutting Rocca and Carriker says very little about our FA plans.

Carriker played two games at the beginning of 2012. He played ZERO games in 2013. That's almost two full years the guy hasn't played. Cutting him was a no-brainer.
Rocca ranked #30 in punting and his net was dead last (more than 10 yards behind #1). I know statistics don't always tell the whole story but I'll be damned if they don't tell a good chunk of it.

Damn Carriker is a class act and a great player. He'll find a new home quickly.

Must not be recovering as quick as they had hoped.

Actually I think it says alot about our free agent plans. We are clearing space when it wasnt actually needed.... unless we have plans to make some serious moves. We were well under the cap before any of these moves. So unless its suspected that we will need more than $17 million that we had without these moves to bring some one in, they werent moves that had to be made. So with $20 million in cap space before any other moves from this point... got to wonder who the hell is on the radar?? I got one of those oh no now what feelings that they are priming up for one of those runs. The kind where FA starts at 4:00 PM and by nine AM we have signed six guys.
