Exactly what we need. Two QBs who struggle to read defenses and have limited pocket skills. How ever we could use the extra draft pick. But all in all, seeing as how Cousins will only be here two more years, I would consider the trade.

i think the team would evaluate whether they can work with prior before they make a trade

reading defenses is about film study and coaching . if they are hard workers in the class room then both should be at least serviceable in those areas

as for how long KC is here , i wouldnt let that be the factor in making a bad trade . if he plays out his contract and leaves then so be it . we got 4 years from a 4th rounder at the worst

we need to focus on getting the best deal we can . prior does have skills but can we work with him ? if we cant then pass . if we can then what is the other pick ? a 3rd ? 4th ? worse ? if worse then pass

if it is a 4th or better then we are in no worse shape then when we drafted him :suds:

I would rather a backup with a similar skill set. I'd consider the trade in a heart beat but it all depends on the pick. I'd rather the conditional 1st or 2nd the following season though.

^^^This. Straight up...probably not. The offensive game plan or playcalling probably would not have to be changed much in the event that Griffin goes down or just gets beat up a bit. From what I have seen of Pryor, he is just as viable a BU option as Cousins. Throw in a 3rd or 4th, then its a no brainer. I'm with gk though, I would rather have a higher draft pick or an additional conditional pick to fill a roster need with a potential starter..

i think you guys overvalue KC if you think a conditional number 1 or 2 is in play

Any also undervalue draft picks especially in the rookie cap era and the fact that these are RAIDERS picks (which could be very high).

If we cant fleece the raiders then we are in the bottom 10% of the nFL in terms of negotiation skills. Might need to fire whole FO

Would you pay two second round picks (essentially the second one is rated as a third because it's the following season) for a QB that comes in and leads your 4 or 5 win football team to the playoffs? Just answer that question.

Would pay a second and third (the third is really a fourth because it's the following season) for a starting QB? Now answer this one. Just give the answer...no justification.

The first one - perhaps (although it would never happen). The second one - hell no! The Raiders have been burned multiple times in this type situation in the recent past. What leads you to believe that this won't happen again? Cousins is a 4th round pick who shows potential but still has had mixed results. He is certainly not a sure thing (if you look at this objectively & not as the fan of any given player or team).

now how can you just "answer the question " . KC hasnt shown he can be that type of qb . so that alters your question . i will not be led down your road based on a loaded question

and this "a 3rd is a 4th " stuff is mumbo jumbo . in 2015 that 3rd is a 3rd . i dont go for all that slight of hand foolishness

you arent getting a conditional 1st or 2nd . that is dreaming

Why would we want to do this? We have a capable back up. If we want to trade him, at least get something that can help us fill some of our glaring holes, not another backup QB who's contract expires in a couple of years and will be gone after that.

Oh no. I have said before that he isn't worth that. Just saying I would rather have a 2nd round pick (best case scenario IMO) or a 3rd-4th with another conditional pick if he performs well. But, Pryor and a 3rd-4th rounder doesn't sound too bad to me. I am still thinking his value might be a 3rd rounder..period.

Yes

Absolutely, If he is someone who I see as a starter..long term.

But I don't think Cousins is either one of those guys.

That's really vague. A draft pick? :noidea:

IMO I don't turn down getting prior back, but he doesn't add much (if any) value to the deal. It all depends on what the draft pick is.

For those who didn't answer the questions plainly...that is what a conditional pick is. If conditions are met, then you get an extra pick.

IF the Raiders were to make the playoffs, then we would get the conditional pick in addition to the 3rd or 2nd we get this season.

IF the Raiders were to not make the playoffs but KC started 8 games or more, then we would get an additional 4th or 3rd.

It's whatever the conditions are.

IF you answer honestly, then you wouldn't mind those conditions added if you are OAK because then you know the player was worth it.

i answered the question honestly i just wasnt going to be railroaded into a position under false pretenses

no one sees KC as that kind of qb at this time most are still scathing from the flyn's and kolb's of the world

based on what i have seen of him on the field i see him as a 3rd rounder .
