Well if were boiling everything down to one game....

In one game against the chargers, the broncos were held to 17, so that means that will happen again.

Umm the lowest point total of the season for the Broncos is 26 against the Patriots this past weekend.

Actually the Broncos scored 20 against sd. We were both wrong. But still, it was a loss, so that means its bound to happen again.

Just like Indy beating seattle in a Dome, on a b2b early road game, in the first half of the season tells you everything you need to know about the Seahawks.

Oh you are right...Wow brain fart right there. I agree one game cannot decide how a team is going to do. Usually when trying to figure out the norm for a team you take the extremes to both side of the middle out of the equation.

That game against San Diego where they only scored 20 and gave up their first 100 yard rushing game wasn't a great indicator of this team. It was the Thursday night football game and we had just suffered some serious injuries before that game so kind of like the Indy game for you guys not sure you can read too much into the San Diego game for the Broncos.

No way. They went after Sherman just as much as Browner. Hilton torched Sherman for a 70-some yard TD. Afterwards Sherman just yelled at Earl Thomas like it was his fault. Hilton and Wayne's stats would have been much better had it not been for the constant holding by Browner and Sherman.

That was the miscommunication I was referring it. It's not really "torching" him when he let him run past thinking he had help. One of them obviously made an error and the Colts made them pay.

Seattle needs to send everyone for no less then 40% of the first QTR. ..it's worth giving up a TD to do it.

2 sacs, 3 knockdowns in the 1st qtr will change mannings timing for the rest of the game.

If they don't get to him early ..it's all over

Not boiling everything down to one game. Just pointing out that Seattle's secondary is not invincible. I happen to think Peyton Manning (with the weapons he has) will teach that secondary a few lessons.

PM > LOB (Just my humble opinion).

LOL no it wont. Not when Manning has 2 weeks to study a really basic defensive team who wont be as smart or as exotic as a Ravens or Jets defense.

Lovie Smith couldn't stop Peyton and Chicago had a offense no better than Seattle's.

no one knows who the defensive coach of Seattle is ( Dan Quinn)

I guess a future HOF cornerback named Champ Bailey means very little to you. Also you calling DRC "Ok" is pretty funny considering he actually graded out as a top 5 corner in the NFL this season. I will agree the Safety play has not been great.

wow, c'mon cdumler, champ bailey has been nothing for a long time and you know it. he has lived on reputation alone for quite a while. I will give you that DRC is better than an 'ok' starting CB, but he is not top 5.

Hasn't been anything for a while now hmmmm well I guess we will have to agree to disagree. I mean he did finish last year not only as a pro bowl corner but also as a top 7 corner by PFF. Obviously I am not the only one that still thinks he has something left. I guess it is just coincidence since he came back from injury that the Broncos are averaging giving up only 15 points a game and under 250 yards a game even though they played 2 top 10 offenses in that time period of the 4 games. I guess it is just a coincidence since he came back that teams have just been ignoring his side of the field and so far in 4 games his receiver he has been on has only caught 3 passes in 4 games.

eh, stats don't work as well in football as they do in baseball imo. i've watched a lot of champ over the years, every year, and his play really started dwindling a few years ago. he probably should have been demoted to nickel back 2 or 3 years ago.

I would be willing to bet real hard-earned cash that if Denver loads 7 and 8 guys in the box to shut down Lynch and the Broncos expect Champ to take care of Baldwin or Tate or Harvin on his own or with very little help, it will be ugly for him. Several receptions. Lots of yardage. Maybe a couple of TD's.

The Broncos defensive coaches are going to need to plan for the void which is Harris.

If not for Torrey Smith abusing Champ like his red-headed step child last January, the Broncos may be going to back to back SB's.

Champ IS a huge liability in this game and I think the Broncos coaches probably know it so they may come up with some coverage schemes to help Champ so they don't have a repeat of last year's playoffs.

Yes, and no...definitely not the same player...huge liability? The guy was injured for a good part of the season, he has looked pretty good in nickel and that's not an easy transition...the best part about his game now is not physical...smart player who I think knows his limitations (especially after the Torrey Smith torching).

I expected Brady to target him a lot more, and for SEA to do the same, but imo Champ won't be the reason if DEN loses.

The key matchups in this game will be DEN OL vs the SEA DL...and the SEA OL vs the DEN front 7.

well, i guess we will see what happens. IMO, If I am right and the broncos have to overcompensate for Champ, it will free things up elsewhere in the secondary and in the running game for the seahawks. If they trust Champ to be Chris Harris, imo, we could see a repeat of the Torrey Smith torching.

lol...we could...no dog in this one for me, but I think SEA would be wise to open it up and go after the DEN back 4, especially early in the game as I'm sure they will stack the box play single high S. RW should have some good one on one looks early in the game.

I know Lynch is a beast, but that NT #94 for DEN is not going to be moved and if SEA doesn't do anything to force that DEF back a little, it's going to be hard to find lanes to the 2nd level where he really does turn into beast mode.

It can be a great game, but if SEA just tries to impose their will running early and they get behind, idk I wouldn't feel too good as a Hawks fans.

Well guess we will have to agree to disagree on this one. I was worried a couple weeks ago about Champ one on one but after watching him the last couple of games he looks like the Champ of old and looks like he is on a mission. I wouldn't discount the fact that this is his first Super Bowl ever and that he will be amped to play knowing this could be his last game of his career.

Now the Torrey Smith things is played out way too much. He got beat once I will agree with you on that. The rest you really need to go rewatch the tape and realize the safeties did not play like they were supposed to over the top. Champ thought he had safety help when they fell for the play action getting themselves out of position. 2nd half of that game he completely shut down Torrey Smith to 0 catches.

Peyton is going to slice them up just like Luck did.

if peyton manning throws for 220 yards the broncos are going to lose this game and btw they returned a TD from a botched field goal attempt which is the reason why they won the game

what im worried about with denver is wes welker i would like to match up against them if they want to throw long balls downfield against our secondary but if they start passing to wes for those 8-10 yard plays that turn into an extra 15-20 yards after catch which is what he is infamous for than we have a problem

The Broncos this year probably only go deep 3-4 times a game on average so I wouldn't expect them to do it very often. 0-10 yards is where you should be looking for a majority of the passes. Peyton is perfectly fine just taking all the underneath throws picking up 4-5 yards at a time then hoping just maybe a team will miss a tackle or two and see a 5 yard play turn into 30 yards.

Actually that was zone coverage and isn't the only time someone burned the gap between Sherman on the underside and Thomas over the top. Happened against SF as well. They don't spend much time in full zone, but they have been as vulnerable as most other defenses to passing in the gaps when they do.

There is no doubt Manning will get his yards in. They will score. No one should think Denver will be held to under 20 points no matter what you think of Seattle's defense. It's more about can Seattle score enough to keep up or take the lead. I'm far more interested in the match up between Seattle's offense and Denver's defense. Harvin could be a game changer, but Seattle has committed too many unforced errors that just won't leave them in this game if they continue unless Denver turns the ball over a few times with good field position.
