Good to see Jarell Eddie make his first two shots. Basically means he's a guy when you get going, he makes 110% effort on both sides of the ball. If he misses the first few shots, he tends to not be as good.

Hokies can't match up with Payne. I look for Izzo to pound it inside 2nd half. I like Coach Johnson, but he needs to lock them up man-to-man and stay out of the zone.

We've always had problems defending the 3 against 4's and 5's.

Payne is killing them. Going to the zone just made them step into their shots. Then when he went back to man they were in their shooting element. Hokies missed a bunch of layups. Can't do that against the Spartans.

Surprisingly good 1st half all things considered. Sparty ran away from us late once Emelogu had to go to the bench with foul trouble. Everything is much more of a chore when he isn't out there.


Also, did we pick up a transfer? This Cadarius Raines guy is an ok player. I wonder if he's related to Cadarian.

It was 31-30 when MSU went on that big run and they aren't letting up. Payne is the difference.

We started out well, but we couldn't defend and couldn't score outside of Adam Smith and Janell Eddie. We also turned the ball over like crazy. I guess its expected against number one.

Hope we can play better against Seton Hall. Hope we shot from 3 pt land like we did against Michigan State though.
