next season we have approximately 31 mil in cap space

now despite what people on this board want most likely RAK will be franchised for about 10 mil

in addition hall is heading to a pro bowl year and most likely will be resigned for about 2x his salary or about 3 mil

that is 13 mil

that leaves 18 mil without cutting a player . guys like Morgan are a 6.3 savings(if cut ) carricker 3.6 , bowen cofield williams all are are redo candidates

my question is what do you do with the 18 mil ?

do you bring in 2 young wrs (i.e. a decker and/or alexander ) or do you go 2 good young o/lineman ? that would be in addition to ILB , perhaps 2 safeties another quality CB or 2

now i should add we have a draft as well 2-7 much like last season

do you go wr over o/line or do you go o/line ?

now keep in mind we are # 8 overall in offense this season and were 5th overall last season with what we have now - Reed

thoughts ?

The money has to go two places.....

O-line and DB. Yea we might need a WR... but thats saying they dont get more out of Morgan and end up keeping him. But our biggest areas of need are O-line, DB ILB period. And I think we tackle atleast one of these spots in the draft.

If the right guys are available, 2-3 quality lineman so you can protect your entire franchise is an absolute must and huge priority. Everything else can wait.

It all depends on who's available, but priority one for me is OL. It has been neglected too long. Then finding Fletcher's replacement and the secondary come in a close second and third.

But much like the draft, if all the sudden a Decker falls into your lap and you can sign him for a value price (highly unlikely) then you can't pass that up. Best player available at the best value at a position of need.

Agree - upgrading the O-line in conjunction with RG3 using the offseason to address his flaws can help overcome any shortcomings in the WR area.

Depends who's available, we just can't sign anybody, Org for once needs to make wise choices not and not overreact and sign another Haynesworth.

I agree with you guys. OL in Free agency with a DB/ILB second and WR third. As long as they spend the $$ wisely and don't completely overpay or get some injury prone 30 something year old..I will be fine with whatever they do.

WR is a mess outside of Garcon, TE is good. If we could get a good middle of the pack guy on the cheap..so be it. There aren't a ton of options out there so we may need to draft a WR.

Oline top priority for me too. Followed pretty closely by a couple DBs. We really haven't focused on finding top talent on Defense since our Kerrigan draft. That catches up to any team. Then WR. We haven't done a great job drafting talent at WR, so maybe a value FA, with good potential. I like the idea of Decker, if he could be gotten.

You go where the best long-term plan is. You don't aim for positions. This will cause you to overpay for an OL when an improvement at another position would have been more reasonable.

If you don't protect griffin sooner you need a QB again. Yes, that position has to be a priority, even if you overpay a little.

Don't think you have to worry about that with this group. Those type of signings were part of the Cerrato era. Beyond the initial mistake of trading for McNabb what type of mistakes has the current FO made along those lines?

While I agree with the sentiment, the kind of player you overpay for, doesn't hit the market along the OL.
