You fell victim to one of the classic blunders.
Inspired by the Seinfeld character George Castanza, and encouraged by Chef, I present the week 8 OG picks.
George's motto:
George's motto:
If every instinct you every have is wrong, then the opposite would have to be right.
Disclaimer: keep in mind these are picks that even I may not make. But with so many teams on byes, you never know.
TE - Andrew Quarless. Available in 98% of ESPN leagues. With Finley out, he gets his shot. Maybe he's doesn't inspire much confidence, but he's got a great QB/offense and Minny gives up an average of 15 points to the opposing TE.
RB - Kendall Hunter. Available in 88% of ESPN leagues. I'm guessing that the 49ers will at some point want to rest Gore. And since the 9ers are playing the Jags, that rest may come early in the first half. Enter Hunter.
WR - Jerome Simpson. Available in 94% of ESPN leagues. The guys gets plenty of looks. And Ponder will be more accurate than Gosh Freeman. Plus you have to figure that Minny will be losing - so passing to catch up is inevitable.
QB - Carson Palmer. Available in 88% of ESPN leagues. TKO and I talked about him on a couple of other SportsHoopla threads. Stats show Atlanta doesn't pressure the QB often. ATL allows an average 286 passing yards and 2.3 TD per game. Palmer has tossed a lot of INT this season, but he's played against some pretty tough defenses: DET, NO, TB, CAR, SF, SEA.... yet he has still averaged almost 250 yards a game and has tossed a TD in all but 1 game.
Anyone else have any?
